Quite smaller campground. Grass was kept well, bathroom looked like new inside. Spillway with in walking distance for us. The large older pecan trees we perfect for a campground setting.

I stayed in the small rustic campground at Sandy Park for a night. It was tucked away and very quiet. There’s electric hook ups at every site, but not water at every site. Still, there were several water spigots that could be easily accessed. I would definitely come back. The only downside was there wasn’t very good connectivity.

Great access to the river below the dam. I usually need to pick up trash but also usually catch some fish so it’s a reasonable trade off for me

Quiet camping walking distance from Kaw lake dam. Plenty of fire wood on site. Clean bathrooms. Electric and water at camp sites. Tents allowed. Dogs allowed. Great fishing. Swimming area in less than a mile from camping area. Arkansas river access on site. Loved sandypark. #sandypark #kawlake #kawdam #oklahomacamping #rec.gov

There were only two other RVs and we looked forward to some quiet sleep until a severe thunderstorm struck at around 2am. Then they decided to open the floodgates and a very loud siren went off.
