An amazing campground. The bugs are bit outrageous, but a lot better than most places. There is constant security here and a really nice museum nearby! Needs more restrooms near the edge though. Way to far to walk all the time. Laundry facility is small, dirty, and expensive. Dryers barely work.

Went to see the Christmas lights. Very nice set up. $2 per car load. Takes about 10 mins to drive thru. Definitely recommend especially if you have small children. Staff was very friendly.

Kemper Williams Park Campground Patterson, Louisiana Big Rig low ground clearance vehicles use caution. The main entrance to the park campground crosses railroad tracks that are very steeply graded off busy Route 90. You will bottom out on the track crossing and trains travel through frequently. The good news is, there is an alternate entrance that is much easier to cross. Call ahead and a park staff member will meet you at that entrance and open the gate that is normally locked.It’s just West of the main entrance closer to the aviation museum. You’ll see the old F-4 fighter jet outdoor display nearby. It's called Silo Road. The campground and park staff are very helpful and nice. There are two camping areas (actually three) available. The first is an open gravel area with full hookups situated as back-in sites. Behind that closest to Route 90 are “rally sites” that are only used during local events. Further in, past the open gravel area are wooded sites that are all back-ins, some deeper than others but barely enough for our 40 foot 5th wheel. There’s 30/50 amp power, water and sewer all situated at the rear of the sites so extra hoses might be necessary to reach. The sites are dirt and gravel and there is a bathhouse and laundry but the machines were old and/or not working. We chose the wooded area near the bathhouse for the more than adequate WiFi reception, privacy and shade. There were a few RVs there that looked semi-permanent, as there were in the open gravel area but everyone was nice. The only noise was from the trains, and some weekend evening stereos playing a little too loud. A birthday party was held at the pavilion and it was loud but they were only there for a few hours one day. There are junior high school baseball games held at the nearby fields, and we enjoyed watching a game and visiting the concession stand. The park also has a golf course and clubhouse restaurant, and playgrounds. There is wildlife around, we saw several raccoons that aren’t afraid of people, and the “beware of bear” signs are for real although we only saw bear poop that was fresh. Other campers nearby we met said they’d seen a bear several times in the park. There weren’t a lot of RVers at the campground during our stay and it seemed to us the place is underutilized. We felt safe and secure staying there although most other people there during our stay are probably working somewhere nearby and living out of their campers. It wasn’t trashy or creepy but maybe some people get that impression about the place. $25 per night if you stay for a week.
