Overview
Overview
Located in the heart of the Heritage Valley, Kenney Grove Park offers a tranquil retreat surrounded by majestic, centuries-old oak trees. This Ventura County park provides a scenic backdrop for travelers looking to escape the bustle of Southern California's larger cities. The atmosphere is centered on preserving natural beauty, making it a quiet destination where the wind through the trees is the primary soundtrack. It serves as a peaceful gateway to the agricultural history of the region.
Location & Surroundings
The park is situated just outside the city of Fillmore, CA, nestled among rolling hills and sprawling citrus and avocado orchards. The geography provides a sense of seclusion, yet it remains easily accessible from Highway 126. Guests can enjoy views of the nearby mountain ranges and breathe in the scent of orange blossoms during the spring blooming season. The setting feels distinctly rural, offering a refreshing slice of old California that is increasingly rare to find.

Kenney Grove Park features dedicated RV sites equipped with water and electrical hookups, catering to those who prefer a mix of comfort and rustic charm. While the hookups provide essential convenience, the park also offers a dump station for guests. For recreation, visitors have access to the following features:
- A challenging 9-hole disc golf course
- Expansive picnic areas with barbecue pits
- Multiple playgrounds for children
- Scenic hiking and walking trails
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
A short drive brings you into historic downtown Fillmore, home to the Fillmore and Western Railway, where vintage trains offer unique excursions through the valley. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to Lake Piru, which provides opportunities for boating and fishing. Additionally, the Sespe Wilderness is nearby for more rugged hiking adventures. Local farm stands are scattered throughout the area, offering fresh, seasonal produce straight from the surrounding groves.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for families and nature lovers seeking a low-key, traditional camping experience rather than a high-activity commercial resort. It is perfect for those who enjoy birdwatching, photography, or simply relaxing in a hammock under a canopy of trees. If your travel style favors quiet evenings and natural landscapes over luxury amenities like swimming pools or clubhouses, Kenney Grove Park is a wonderful fit for your Ventura County itinerary.

Great place to camp. Nice amenities. Just don't approach the children's park on a Sunday at 10 am unless you want to listen to a racist, fire-and-brimstone sermon about God's enemies. You know the type. The kind that deputizes a former guest on the Joe Rogan Show into the sermon. That kind.

Barry was the BEST campground host! We stayed here for the weekend with girl scouts and he was so helpful and excited to have us!

Big RV and camping park that have high capacity. But the online booking app is broken. The Rv sites are gravel, bigger and longer than it rated on the internet. Suggest they update the dimensions. Few sites have RV hookup. Toilets have no locks. Hope they fix it. Overall, the park is very quiet and well maintained. Currently, it doesn't have 50amp, just 30amp.
Simple Things
Not much here when it comes to the amenties but it is quiet and peaceful. The park is clean and maintained. If you're looking for a quick getta away this place will work. Unfortunately the site we were given had the water/power hook ups for the RV at the front right entrance to the site instead of it being at the back and left side. Our power cord wasn't long enough to reach it. We had to run off of an extension cord. But all in all it was a lovely quick trip away from the city. There is a small but nice playground and an open green space for activities at the entrance to the park. The restrooms need some updating. Driving to the park was fairly simple and easy to navigate.

Ok, there is nothing flashy about Kenney Grove Park, but that’s why I love it. The spaces are perfect for small or large trailers. They have electric hook ups or space for dry camping (closest to the park for kids). The campsite is full of large Oak trees which makes you feel like you’re really up in the mountains. Also, it’s like a 25 minute drive to the coast, so if you can’t find anything near Ventura then this is the go to spot. They also have heated showers, which is always a plus.
