Kenney Grove Park
Overview
Located in the heart of the Heritage Valley, Kenney Grove Park offers a tranquil retreat surrounded by majestic, centuries-old oak trees. This Ventura County park provides a scenic backdrop for travelers looking to escape the bustle of Southern California's larger cities. The atmosphere is centered on preserving natural beauty, making it a quiet destination where the wind through the trees is the primary soundtrack. It serves as a peaceful gateway to the agricultural history of the region.
Location & Surroundings
The park is situated just outside the city of Fillmore, CA, nestled among rolling hills and sprawling citrus and avocado orchards. The geography provides a sense of seclusion, yet it remains easily accessible from Highway 126. Guests can enjoy views of the nearby mountain ranges and breathe in the scent of orange blossoms during the spring blooming season. The setting feels distinctly rural, offering a refreshing slice of old California that is increasingly rare to find.
Amenities & Park Features
Kenney Grove Park features dedicated RV sites equipped with water and electrical hookups, catering to those who prefer a mix of comfort and rustic charm. While the hookups provide essential convenience, the park also offers a dump station for guests. For recreation, visitors have access to the following features:
- A challenging 9-hole disc golf course
- Expansive picnic areas with barbecue pits
- Multiple playgrounds for children
- Scenic hiking and walking trails
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
A short drive brings you into historic downtown Fillmore, home to the Fillmore and Western Railway, where vintage trains offer unique excursions through the valley. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to Lake Piru, which provides opportunities for boating and fishing. Additionally, the Sespe Wilderness is nearby for more rugged hiking adventures. Local farm stands are scattered throughout the area, offering fresh, seasonal produce straight from the surrounding groves.
Who This Park Is Best For
This park is ideal for families and nature lovers seeking a low-key, traditional camping experience rather than a high-activity commercial resort. It is perfect for those who enjoy birdwatching, photography, or simply relaxing in a hammock under a canopy of trees. If your travel style favors quiet evenings and natural landscapes over luxury amenities like swimming pools or clubhouses, Kenney Grove Park is a wonderful fit for your Ventura County itinerary.

Go for the oak trees, stay for the clean restrooms;) Very well maintained and quiet. Coyotes at night but not within park. Shaded areas, peaceful place to wander. Campsite 45👍

Beautiful oak Grove setting with creekbed down the middle. Even when it's dry, the campground is beautiful. The roadways are a bit small past the park area, but our 4x4 F250 and 35' 5th wheel made it at least to our site (Site 53 w full hookups- located on top of small hill in front of camping area). I imagine larger vehicles may have complications making it to the other side of the creek, the bridge is small, and there are many oaks that have extending branches. But there are spots before this bridge that are much easier for larger campers to get to. Right up the street from "downtown Fillmore," less than a 5 minute drive away . Highly recommend, especially if you have kids, the park and field are right there, and the creek area is cool to explore.

Very nice little Park it was pretty difficult to get into the parking spot that we could get into if you have a larger rig like we do you, you definitely don't want to be further into the park, I would definitely Drive In without the rig or walk in and check out your spot before you pull in. The park host was very nice and helpful. So was the Ranger he was very helpful very nice. Whenever we're in the area we will definitely be back!

Most horrible experience ever, there were v rowdy people camping next to us with loud Spanish music playing and screaming till 4 am, when we couldn't sleep we went to the host, imagine he told us to call the cops instead of coming over to shut the music!! We go camping to relax, not be subjected to this lawlessness!!!!
