Mid October visit sites were nicely decorated. Stayed in the 100 loop check the map! Some sites you have to back way down to get to the site. No fishing pier either.

Beach review only. My 8 year old granddaughter loves this lake. The lake is small but beach is nice and lots of picnic tables. It gets packed on a hot day so get your spot early. We went on a Sunday and the con concessions and kayak rentals were closed.

I made the mistake of choosing spot 201 which was very small and right on the access road for all of the 200-500 range of sites. I get less traffic where I live in the city. That was my error. The rest of the park and surrounding areas are beautiful. I really enjoyed the kayak launch which allowed me to get into and out of my kayak without even getting wet! Awesome!

Great for kayaking and camping. Tons of walking trails and even some bike trails. TONS of bird watching if you camp make sure to get the homemade delicious cinnamon rolls delivered to your campsite. The couple that run it are super nice. Even homemade churned butter and fresh farm eggs from their farm. Unfortunately the fishing dock is not there currently, im hoping they are working on putting a new one out. Still can fish there in plenty of other spots. Dogs can swim in the lake just not at the public beach, take a walk you'll find spots on the trails. It is kettle moraine state forest so yes be prepared for bugs.... youre in nature in a state forest there will be bugs.... youre in their home.

Needs maintenance and upkeep. Not sure what gets done with the money made from this place but it definitely doesn't go towards maintenance of the place. No more fishing pier, just the remains of the old one, the whole playground area is underwater and it hasn't rained in 2 days. Camp sites are nice and scenery is nice but everything else has a run down/neglected feel to it, a good variety of birds in the area if your into bird watching or listening. The pit toilet bathroom vent fans are loud by the campsites and in need of maintenance but that just fits in with everything else around here. Lol kayak launch is located in the water. After driving through the water to get to it, you have to walk through water to get to the launch.
