Awesome campground with most of the beautiful sites and scenery still intact after the devastating fire that ripped through the area. Don’t let the fire damage at the area entering the grounds put you off. Clean facilities and great park staff. Have been back multiple times it’s a slice of heaven. Sites in the loop are nice private. Sites 1/20 are near the children’s play area and washrooms with flushing toilets and showers. The paths to the old railway bridge are also near here as well as the wood supply abs park staff. Sites up in the 60/100 range are nearer the area damaged by the fire so open and less private. The river is high in spring so no beaches but once it’s summer the beaches are great. Wood is $6 Check out time 11 pm check in 1 pm There’s a gas station and garage ten min drive or less down the road and a diner and pub when open as well as ice cream and coffee shop. The store in Beaverdel has everything you need to inc food supplies and camping stuff beer wine etc that’s half hr from sites. The middle of campground has BMX style trails abs kids play equipment.

Had a fantastic stay. Facilities were excellent. Showers at the central washroom facilities were clean and hot. Multiple flush toilets that were clean and well maintained throughout the camp were a bonus instead of just pit toilets. Fantastic being close to the river. Kids bike park and playground were great. Honestly had a great time and plan to return.

What a great campground! Spotless flush toilets sprinkled around with some pits. Our nearest pit toilet was freshly painted and odorless. Lovely hot showers near the entrance. A newish kids playground with a child size bike park beside it. The KVR bike path goes right through the campground. Also easy access to the river at a couple of locations. The river was a bit high but it is run off season. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that there is some water in low lying areas that create mud bowls on a couple of the paths to the toilets...needs some gravel. Also there are lots of mosquitoes that favour that area as well. That should correct as the summer progresses. Beautiful scenery and very quiet. Loved our 3 night stay.

Been camping here since the 80's and, although it's gotten much busier, it's still my favorite in BC. Beautiful sites, clean bathrooms with hot showers, and perfect beaches. We were here 2 weeks before the fire in August, 2015 and this is our first year back since. It was a surreal experience entering the park and seeing the destruction, but the lower sites haven't changed at all. The upper campground saw most of the damage, but there is beautiful new growth happening already. The new flowers have brought in more birds than I have ever seen here.
