Realllly like this camp ground. If you go to the hillside campground (dog friendly) there are a few camp sites that give a little more seclusion, your not totally right on top of one another and there are TREES in between sites!!! Walking trails around lake consist of sidewalks, gravel and mowed grassy areas (love that). Park officers are always on patrol and come through the campgrounds often and they are very friendly. The only thing that wasn’t my favorite was the bathrooms. I wouldn’t necessarily say anything was wrong just wasn’t my favorite, but again people cleaning them were very kind and courteous. The only thing that I would give 1 star to is the park office in hillside! They were never open, didn’t come back when their sign said they’d be back and times they were supposed to be open were never listed. We were there five days, never could catch them when they were open. Buttt still a very pleasant stay, nice sink area for dish clean up and nice dump stations. My only recommendation would be that they have a time of day they allow dogs on the beach!! It was so nice and pretty but we could never go.

Enjoyed tent camping here. Cozy site with great shade trees, nice bathroom. Enjoyed kayaking the lake.

Water was pretty and clean. Lots of cabins and pavilions, as well as fishing spots to choose from. The stone lodge trail was steep, rough and overgrown. Mosquitoes everywhere. You can rent kayaks and canoes. The road is a bit rough by the visitor center.

Great place to relax, fish or camp. We always enjoy going to the lake.

Beautiful park for camping except for the bad neighbor: there is a racing drag strip nearby and at 9:40pm they srill rev up every few minutes. I can get that for free in the city without the trouble of getting out into the woods. Downgrading to 1* after I was unable to find contact information for Park Rangers when our campsite neighbors were running a gasoline generator and having a loud party after 10pm.
