Love the campground. Turtles were great. It didn't get 5 stars as we were not aware that the bathrooms/showers were closed. Didn't tell us when we checked in. Also said come here for wood and ice and then closed for three days. Rules about bare campsites are not enforced. Coolers and cookware and garbage left our all day and night. Why do you even have rules?

We re there a few days ago. It's a beautiful and peaceful place to relax, but the manager was a bit strange and controlling. She kept telling us what we could and couldn't do, instead of just letting us enjoy the place. It seemed like it was more for older people who just want to read books and spy on each other. They have a big volleyball court, but you can't play after 6 pm because it's too loud. And they have a rule against drinking alcohol, but the guy who drives around and checks on everything was drinking in his car. I'm pretty easygoing, but this place is not for people in their 30s. It's like they want you to shut up, close your eyes, and just sit in your tent. No thanks! I'm not ready to spend my retirement years like that. Sorry, BC, but your management needs some work.

I camped on the Ponderosa loop of this campground and the location was STUNNING. The site I had overlooked the river and provided a great place for an easy nature walk in the morning. I had plenty of space for my vehicle and my small tent, although I think if the campground had been full, I would have felt a little too close to my neighbors. I didn't need any amenities other than the water spigot and vault toilet, which were just a short walk from the site and were clean and well-maintained. There was adequate signage in and around the park so I knew how to get there from the highway (I had no cell reception in Canada to check Google Maps!) Making a reservation was easy on the BC Parks website, and very affordable. Would stay here again!

Family oriented campground with access to lake and beach. Lots of mature trees for shade but few shrubs, so privacy is somewhat lacking. Well maintained roadways and pads in variety of sizes, suitable for small vehicles and tents as well as larger trailers. Despite the bustle of activity during the day (including kids racing around on bikes and parents pushing baby strollers) it quiets down nicely at night for a peaceful sleep. A certain amount of sites are reservable with a some first come first serve available. Wheelchair accessible pit toilets, but no sink. Running water available from pipes near garbage and recycling bins. Overall a good place if you're looking for more of a family/friend outdoor experience, but don't expect anything close to remote wilderness. Dogs are fine at campground (on leash) but are not allowed on beach.

It has been a family tradition to camp here but we skipped it this year when we found out they had swimmers itch. We have been watching the lake getting lower each year too. The campground is wonderful. Clean & plenty of space between sites for privacy. Washrooms & showers are clean and so welcome after a day in the lake and sun. A wonderful place to enjoy for our family & a playground for the younger kids.
