Beautiful scenery with a hiking trail. And a gift shop with a walkthrough about what happened years ago with the revolutionary war. People working were kind and were eager to tell about the history.

Great place for short hiking with kids and family. I had been there for the first time with my toddlers and we had great fun. My little ones loved walking across the forest and loved playing in water creek. Barn and historic farm is amazing. Great place to spend a day in nature.

We went to the Halloween event! Everyone had decorated their RVs professionally! There were so many animatronics!!! It was one of the coolest trick-or-treating things I and my kids have ever been to! They also had fun on the playground, and there is water to fish at. Great place!!!! The haunted houses people created with tents were really good as well!

Very nice place to stay. It looks like they are working on making the campsites better with adding wood to keep the gravel from washing away. Definitely would stay here again. Some very cool stuff to see on the trails.

Even with the gov't shut down taking place (and therefore the visitors center was not open for exploration nor were there any neatly dressed rangers giving hand gestures to precise locations where prominent battlesmen fell), the park was none the less near perfection. As we chose to visit the park on the actual date of the battle, and to hike the nicely paved circle around the time of the actual battle (which practically lines up perfectly for the hour and some that the battle took place, a very key, and nice, park feature!), we assumed/presumed there would be all sorts of activities and since we did little pre-research besides on the battlenand history itself, we didn't realize the shutdown would affect the festivities so heavily, a very sad fact indeed. However, there were still some "die-hards", ancestors of the original freedom fighters, still today expressing their freedoms to recreate as pleases, were there to tell the harrowing talents the Battle of Kings Mountain. While we had to walk around a barred gateway to enter the park, it let us down not at all. The markers along the way, as well as the phone call follow along (yes! They have that, yes! It is cool!!!), make the visit supremely cool, as you follow the footsteps of our forefathers in this tide-turning Revolutionary battle. All we can really say is go...there is no reason not to. Also be absolutely sure to check iut the very nearby living farmstead. It is so stellar! They have an old cotton gin on site and it is super resonate. This place is a great place to visit for anyone and easily accessible (for the most part; while paved, it is still long, and can be quite hot, but with nice tree coverage; another warning: falling nuts; my lady, as we gazed upon the wounding location of Fredrick Hambright, felt as she had maybe been musket-wounded herself, as a rather large and fresh inch amd a half long nut fell squarely upon her noggin, causing her to go down, and a fresh goose egg to rise! Do be wary if visiting around the commemoration time!). But still, a beautiful and as near perfect as could be park! Very well kept. Can't wait to visit again!
