Short walk to where the water is. Great photo apps. Looked like there were cabins for rent. Also, large grass area to play. I would go back and spend a night next time.

We had high hopes for this trip, but it started off with a few hiccups. We had a wedding to attend before leaving, so we packed everything ahead of time thinking we’d head out right after the nuptials. Dinner at the wedding ran a bit late, so we hit the road later than planned. About 20 minutes into the drive, we realized—we didn’t have our trailer keys! Back home we went, deciding to just stay the night. In hindsight, it was the right choice because we later realized the park would have been closed by the time we arrived at 10:30 p.m. When we finally arrived the next day, we unpacked and walked over to the booth just as the ranger returned. We learned there were burn bans in place—meaning charcoal & wood were not allowed, which was not great since those were our main cooking method. The ranger, Kristy, kindly offered a full refund for our original reservation, including the first night we didn’t stay. After thinking it over, we decided we still wanted to give the trip a try. She only charged us for the nights we stayed (Sunday through Wednesday). We were treated to a couple of beautiful days with good weather, perfect for heading down to the beach. We also ventured out to the nearby towns of Port Townsend and Port Orchard, both worth a visit. The park itself is peaceful, with direct beach access, well-kept grounds, and shower stalls available for campers. A special shout-out goes to Kristy, the ranger. She’s an absolute pleasure to work with—friendly, accommodating, and clearly dedicated to both the park and its visitors. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with beach access and a welcoming atmosphere, Kitsap Memorial State Park is a great choice.

Big open park with lots of picnic tables...some with a park BBQs for public use! Restrooms are always clean, and it's easy to walk down the trail for beach access. This trail is not wheelchair accessible, however, there are W/C accessible tables and restrooms. Volleyball and horseshoe pits. Open dawn to dusk unless you're paying to go camping there. Great view of the Hood Canal and reservations are available for tents, RV's, or even small cabin rentals! There's also a large building that can be rented for events, although I have not used this amenity previously, I have seen birthdays and wedding parties in the past. You do need to have a Park Pass or pay the fee per vehicle.

I recently visited this Park, and it was such a relaxing and beautiful experience! The park is well-maintained, with clean walking paths, plenty of benches, and lots of greenery. I loved the trees they created such a peaceful and refreshing atmosphere. There’s also a great playground for kids, along with plenty of hiking trails, camping cabins, and even spots by the lake to enjoy. The park staff were friendly and helpful, and the bathrooms were well-kept, which made the visit even more comfortable. Whether you're looking for a place to camp, hike or simply unwind, I highly recommend!

We got married at Kitsap Memorial in April, and the whole experience was amazing. We're so glad we went through the State Parks for a venue, the price point was reasonable, the expectations and rules were straightforward, and the area was incredible. We also rented the four cabins across the field, which were very reasonably priced and made for an easy after-wedding retreat. The venue is beautiful, easy to find, small enough, and easy to work with. The rental comes with a recommended vendor list, which we used for our tables/chairs, and proved very helpful. The rangers were responsive, helpful, and straightforward. We lucked out on the weather, and it couldn't have been more perfect. Even though you're relatively close to the road, there's minimal road noise. If you're there during the warmer season, there will probably be a lot more people in the park though. So happy we chose the place we did. We were able to relax and have a more laid-back, intimate, and easy wedding. The getting-ready cabin was a lifesaver, and the lights in the Hall really do make the space. It looked so magical.
