Overview
Knotty Pine Resort offers a scenic escape situated along the banks of the upper Weber River in the Kamas Valley. Known as the gateway to the Uinta Mountains, this destination provides a blend of high-altitude beauty and modern convenience for those traveling with a home on wheels. The park maintains a relaxed environment where the sound of the river often serves as the background track to your stay. Whether you are looking for a weekend retreat or a longer seasonal stay, the resort offers a welcoming community feel amidst the pines.
Location & Surroundings
Nestled in the town of Kamas, Utah, the resort is surrounded by lush meadows and towering mountain peaks. This area is famous for its transition from the rolling valleys into the rugged Uinta-Wasatch-Cache National Forest. Visitors are often greeted by fresh mountain air and clear night skies, making it feel worlds away from the urban bustle of the Wasatch Front. The high elevation provides cooler summer temperatures compared to the valley floor, offering a refreshing climate for outdoor exploration and relaxing outside your rig.
Amenities & Park Features
The resort provides well-maintained facilities including full hookup RV sites with options for 30 or 50-amp service. Guests can take advantage of the private river access for world-class fly fishing or relax in the seasonal swimming pool and hot tub. The park also features a clubhouse, clean laundry facilities, and a playground for families. The large, grassy sites and mature trees offer a sense of privacy and shade that many travelers find lacking in more commercialized, asphalt-heavy parks.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor recreation is the primary draw for this region. Guests are just minutes away from the Mirror Lake Highway, a renowned scenic drive offering access to countless trails and alpine lakes. Beyond hiking and fishing, the resort is roughly twenty miles from the vibrant culture of Park City, where you can find upscale dining and shopping. For water sports enthusiasts, Jordanelle State Park is also within easy driving distance. During the winter months, the surrounding area transforms into a hub for snowmobiling and snowshoeing.
Who This Park Is Best For
This resort is an ideal choice for fly fishing enthusiasts and hikers who want a central base camp for exploring the high Uintas. Families will appreciate the on-site recreation and the safe, welcoming atmosphere of the grounds. It is particularly well-suited for travelers who prefer a natural riverfront setting over standard roadside stops. Those seeking a quiet, serene atmosphere where they can disconnect from the city while remaining close to modern luxuries will find this park matches their pace perfectly.

My husband and I with our Golden Retriever stayed two nights in probably the most beautiful RV spot we’ve stayed at on our three week roadtrip. We sat above the Provo River in our Fifth Wheel amongst trees with gorgeous fall color. Although they have WiFi available, the spot we stayed at #3 was extremely limited in accessing service. Other areas in the park did in fact have better service. Becca the Park Host and her husband were so friendly and helpful during our time at Knotty Pinr. I would surely return for a longer stay.

We tipically don't write reviews but we absolutely loved our stay here! The campground is very clean and has that great, classic camping vibe. It's an older park right on a beautiful river, so some spots can be tight, but the overall experience is fantastic. The new manager, Becka, and her team are amazing. We've stayed at a number of parks in our travels, and Becka is easily the hardest-working manager we've ever seen. She was non-stop all weekend, making sure everyone had a great time. We highly recommend this spot for anyone who wants a clean, relaxing home base to explore the area.

My first trip to Roam Unita was in August 2025, just 2 weeks after the management transition within the campground. Change is hard, but despite the shift in leadership, I have never met a group of staff members who are more than willing to hear suggestions on how to improve or make changes to the park, welcoming an honest and open door policy for all who stay at Unita. They pulled together during the rough patches and grew to make a strong team! Now, they can go forward, making all sorts of improvements for the next busy season! Personally, I loved the cabins, which is where I stayed. The fellow campers respected the "quiet times" while I was there, and understood when there was a ban on all open fires, understandably! I will be back for sure! "Kindness Matters, It's really not that difficult"......

Very unfortunate. Sold me a site over the phone - ended up wanting me to wedge my 45’ toy hauler in past the boulder, between two trees to this spot….geometrically impossible. Then they refused a refund. Park is nothing like the photos on the website… probably best going elsewhere.

Booking online was nice and easy. Once we made it to the park registration was kind of odd. We were told what spot to go to, and I should've double checked or walked to the site first to make sure area was big enough but I didn't. Anyways first spot #51 was not appropriate for a 45' trailer. More fitting for a 20 footer (maybe). I managed to drive through the maze back to the office and talked to the manager, she apologized and was able to make a few moves for future bookings and put us in a more accommodating site #19. You can tell the park is slowly transitioning from a recent buyout. But definitely need some street names. Or, at the very least have someone guide you to your spot once checked in. They are pet friendly with no designated pet area which doesn't make much sense. But overall enjoyed our stay. Kids made friends and enjoyed the pool.
