Ksan Campground

Overview

Located on the ancient grounds of the Gitanmaax people, Ksan Campground offers a truly unique experience that transcends the typical RV stopover. This park is deeply integrated with the neighboring 'Ksan Historical Village and Museum, providing visitors with an immediate connection to Gitxsan culture and history. It is a quiet, respectful space where the natural beauty and heritage of the Skeena Valley take center stage for every traveler.

Location & Surroundings

The park is situated at the breathtaking confluence of the Skeena and Bulkley Rivers in northern British Columbia. Surrounded by dense forests and the towering peaks of the Rocher de Boule mountain range, the location provides a serene backdrop for outdoor enthusiasts. Travelers will find themselves immersed in a landscape that has remained significant for thousands of years, offering both scenic vistas and a peaceful, spiritual atmosphere.

Amenities & Park Features

While the setting is historic, the park provides essential comforts for the modern RVer. The facilities are maintained to ensure a comfortable stay while preserving the rustic charm of the area. Key features include:

  • Spacious sites equipped with 15 and 30-amp power and fresh water hookups for various rig sizes.
  • An on-site sani-dump station for convenient waste management during your stay.
  • Clean washroom facilities featuring hot showers and coin-operated laundry services.
  • Individual fire pits and picnic tables at each site to enjoy the evening mountain air.

The park focuses on a natural feel rather than high-density resort amenities, ensuring plenty of space between rigs for a more private experience.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

The primary draw is the 'Ksan Historical Village, where guests can explore reconstructed longhouses and world-class museum exhibits. Beyond the history, the region is a mecca for world-class salmon fishing and steelheading on the nearby rivers. Adventurous guests can explore local hiking trails or take a short drive to see the historic suspension bridge at Hagwilget Canyon, which offers stunning views of the rushing river below.

Who This Park Is Best For

This campground is ideal for culturally curious travelers who want to learn about First Nations history while exploring the rugged beauty of British Columbia. It is a perfect fit for anglers seeking easy access to the river and road trippers looking for a meaningful stop along the Yellowhead Highway. If you prefer a quiet, scenic environment over a bustling resort atmosphere, this park will likely become a highlight of your journey.

Fantastic spot to camp right on the river! Most sites have pretty good privacy, and the camp store has most of what you need in stock. One of my favorite camping spots of 2025. 🏕️

Beautiful location, gorgeous views, level campsites. But very little shade in serviced sites and staff service is non existent. It seems staff are only in the office when they feel like it. After 4 nights we had to finally go hunt someone down to pay for our site because we're decent humans... but I feel like we could've never paid and no one would've noticed or cared. Their staff aren't super friendly when they are there :/ just not very welcoming.

Lovely location with a walk along the river with snow-capped mountains in the background. Very quiet. Full hookups available.

We dry camped along the river. The grounds, bathrooms, and facilities were unserviced and the single toilets were gross! They have one washer and one dryer for a huge campground and only one working shower for the women. The price was good but I would not recommend.
