Kyllonen RV Park
Overview
Kyllonen RV Park offers a genuine Alaskan coastal experience at the very edge of the Kenai Peninsula. Situated directly on the shores of the Cook Inlet, this park serves as a scenic retreat for travelers who value proximity to the ocean and world-class fishing. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious, reflecting the rugged charm of Anchor Point. Visitors often come here to escape the busier crowds found further south in Homer while still enjoying spectacular panoramic views.
Location & Surroundings
Located at the end of Beach Road, the park provides an unobstructed vista of the water and the majestic volcanoes of the Aleutian Range. On clear days, you can see Mount Redoubt and Mount Iliamna across the waves. The surrounding area is famous for being the most westerly point on the North American highway system reachable by car. The sound of the surf and frequent sightings of bald eagles create a peaceful atmosphere for guests.
Amenities & Park Features
The park provides essential services including electric and water hookups to ensure a comfortable stay. A standout feature for many visitors is the dedicated fish cleaning station, which is vital after a successful day on the water. Other practical amenities include:
- Clean restrooms and hot showers
- On-site laundry facilities
- Easy beach access for beachcombing
The sites are designed to accommodate various rig sizes, offering a layout that puts guests just steps away from the rocky Alaskan shoreline.
Nearby Attractions & Things to Do
Outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty to do, starting with halibut and salmon fishing right at the park's doorstep. The nearby Anchor River is a premier destination for steelhead and king salmon runs throughout the summer season. For those looking to explore further, the city of Homer is just a short drive away, offering the famous Homer Spit and various local art galleries. Wildlife viewing remains a major draw, with moose and eagles often seen nearby.

This park is an ideal match for dedicated anglers looking for easy access to some of Alaska's best fishing grounds. It also appeals to nature photographers and landscape lovers who want to wake up to mountain and ocean views every morning. One of my favorite campgrounds. New owners are amazing and making much needed improvements! A great place for friends and family to camp. 5 min walk to the beach.

We reserved a spot here months in advance . We did get an email notice a few days before that the toilets were no longer operational and they hoped they would be fixed soon. We took a risk and showed up for our reserved site and the bathrooms were not operational and would not be fixed this season. I wish the email had communicated better the state of the restroom … that they were not going to be ready anytime soon. We did not stay here. The poor review is for lack of communication.

Very nice RV park, much more private than camping at the spit in Homer. 15-20 min drive to Homer. 5 min walk to the beach which very nice for walking and it is very quiet. Hook up to water and electrical make it suitable for a longer stay. Lots of wild life: moose, eagles, seals, and even black bear passes by

Wonderfully quiet and has a great view. I wish the bathhouse had been operational, that would have made it absolutely perfect, but it was a good stay overall. Skip the loud, crowded, expensive parks in Homer and stay here instead - it's a two minute walk to Anchor Point Beach and a twenty minute drive down to Homer so it is a worthwhile stop on any road trip!
