What an experience! The mill was really something else. The folks operating the place have kept it as true to the original form as possible. The gentleman tending the place (sorry for not getting his name) was very friendly and knowledgeable about the processes and history of the place. He was welcoming and encouraged folks to explore the area as much as they wanted, and was also kind enough to fire up the first machine to demonstrate how it works! The covered bridge was really cool and was like a trip back in time. On the other side of the bridge are multiple walking paths outlined by the on-site map. The entry price was very low at $5 per person. There is a gift shop area where they also offer goods produced at the mill.

We had a great time learning the history of the old mill and covered bridge. There are several hikes one can go on across the bridge. Its a beautiful spot.

We came upon Kymulga Grist Mill park while searching for some of Alabamas Historic covered bridges. It was by far the nicest one we visited that day. The people running the park are so informative and friendly. The area was clean and well maintained. The water was so clear and cool. I wish I’d have brought a fishing pole and a swim suit. They have camping spots and numerous spots to create that perfect picnic. I cannot wait to meander back to Kymulga and spend the entire day.
