La Vista RV Park

Overview

La Vista RV Park serves as a serene gateway to the wonders of West Texas. Located on the outskirts of Alpine, this park offers a laid-back, quiet atmosphere that allows travelers to decompress under the expansive Texas sky. It is a family-operated destination that emphasizes the natural beauty of the high desert, providing a comfortable landing spot for those traversing the rugged landscape of the Trans-Pecos region while seeking a peaceful retreat from the road.

Location & Surroundings

Situated at an elevation of roughly 4,500 feet, the park provides a cooler climate than the low-lying desert floor. The surroundings are defined by the striking silhouettes of the Davis Mountains and the iconic Miter Peak. Its position on the edge of town ensures that visitors enjoy a sense of isolation and unobstructed sunset views while remaining just a short drive from the local conveniences, grocery stores, and unique culture of downtown Alpine.

Amenities & Park Features

The park focuses on providing reliable, high-quality essentials for the modern RVer. Each site is designed to offer plenty of room to breathe and relax. Features include:

  • Full hookups with both 30 and 50 amp electrical service.
  • Large, level pull-through sites that easily accommodate big rigs and tow vehicles.
  • Access to clean restroom facilities, hot showers, and a guest laundry room.

The property also provides reliable Wi-Fi, making it easier for visitors to plan their desert excursions or catch up on work while enjoying the view.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

Alpine is the perfect hub for regional exploration. Guests often use the park as a basecamp for day trips to Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park. Closer to home, you can visit the nearby town of Marfa to see its famous art installations or head to Fort Davis to tour the McDonald Observatory. In Alpine, travelers enjoy walking through the historic downtown area to view vibrant murals, visit the Museum of the Big Bend, or browse local boutiques.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is an ideal fit for independent travelers and retirees who value peace and quiet over organized resort activities. Because of its proximity to Sul Ross State University and regional medical centers, it is also a great choice for extended stays. It appeals most to those who want a no-frills, scenic base that offers easy access to the vast outdoor adventures found throughout the Big Bend region without sacrificing basic comforts.

Simple yet wonderful RV park outside of Alpine and Marfa. Beautiful views of the mountains and a nice cool breeze, even in the summer. All sites are pull through with full hookups and level.

This is one of my favorite places to stay in the greater Davis Mountains and Big Bend area. Just outside of alpine, where you can get pretty much anything you need, and centrally located to the Davis mountains, Big Bend National park, Big Bend State park, martha, and the rest of the Chihuahuan Desert. Full hookups and a very nice bath house with good showers and restrooms, and you can't beat the price.

Perfect stopover to Big Bend. Good price, but full hook-up & the shower/restroom facilities are wonderful. Heated & includes full kitchen! Will always stop here now when I go to the park. All sites are pull‐thru for big rigs. Got good cellular as well.

Passing through late evening and needed a place to plug in our camper van and shower for the night. They left cell phone number on answering machine and answered first time. Bathrooms and showers very clean and pleasant smelling and they even have the good toilet paper 😎. Kitchen/dining area available for eating/washing dishes. Keurig available for coffee. Propane was turned off on stove so I don't think cooking is allowed in there though. Coin operated laundry. About 10 minutes south of Alpine. Wifi available at kitchen/laundry/bathhouse. Barely reached our site #1 if we held our mouths right. Best to stay as close as possible to there. Would definitely stay here again!

Nice small park. Good club house with very clean showers. Sun rise and set views great with the surrounding Mtns Mile high elevation keeps it cooler. 6.5 miles to Alpine and 80 to Big Bend attractions. Beautiful mountains
