We booked this place for a 2 week stay to see Charleston and the surrounding area. We had a problem with the site we were initially put in, but the owner came by to look at the problem and promptly moved us to a different site. The place was clean, the other campers were friendly and the staff were very responsive and made every effort to accommodate us. We will be back.

Quiet, peaceful RV park. Check-In was very easy. We were on a the newer paved sites and enjoyed the experience. Even with the traffic, it was easy to get to Charleston and the surrounding areas. We will be back,

Stayed at Lake Aire for 2 days in January 26. On the positive side, the staff in the office was very friendly. Check in was very easy. They can't help the weather, which was rainy. However, their roads are not gravel, they are mostly dirt with a little gravel on top. Rain + dirt = mud. The roads in and out of the campground was simply pothole strewn mud. We registered for two days with our small Class C. We don't tow, so we take our coach to go sightseeing but leave our outside equipment at the campsite so it's clear someone is staying there. When we returned at 4:45 after our day out, all of our equipment was gone.....no note, and the office was not aware it was missing. The Attendant knew we were registered for 2 days and suggested that "maybe" an employee picked it all up to insure no one took our stuff. He had already gone home but when called said he had picked it up and would bring it back. So I was left with the question....is theft in their campground so bad they have to take these measures to protect campers stuff? If so, why don't they put that in their check in packet or on their website....."lock up your stuff". If theft is not a problem, then why did their employee take our equipment without leaving a note or advising the office Attendant who knew we were still there??? He may have been well intentioned, but the manner in which this was handled made me suspicious. It's in a great location to visit Charleston but I left with a less than positive vibes about the campground.

This campground could be really great but there is a big issue with maintenance. If you use one of the new, paved pull thru sites it’s probably fine but the older RV sites are in need of gravel and grading to address soggy ground. The main bathhouse was ok. It’s dated but felt pretty clean. The other bathroom building had a broken toilet. The new pavilion and playground are very nice but the old playground is completely dilapidated and super dangerous. It needs to be removed. Our stay was fine but there were always little issues like the trash not being collected for several days, the ice machine was out of order as was the propane refill station and the change machine and soap dispenser in the laundry room. The hose at the dump station had a big hole in it and there isn’t any WiFi unless you’re near the bathhouse. I recognize running a campground is a lot of work but surely the owners can check and empty the thrash each day and deal with small repairs like the hose as they arise and not wait for a guests to complain. There are also a good number of ratty RVs and some long term guest sites that are pretty trashy. I feel that’s pretty common amongst RV campgrounds. Most are tucked away on one row. On the plus side, the older sites are scenic (but very close to water) and the campground located near stores and restaurants but feels tucked away. The heaters on the bathrooms were nice during cold nights. There is some recurring noise from planes and trains but it didn’t bother us much. Guests seemed nice and most followed the 4.7mph speed limit. All in all I’d say the place is adequate. It has lots of potential and could be really nice with proper maintenance. If you go, manage your expectations.

Nice RV Park with full hook up. We used the newer paved pads which were level and well maintained. Staff was friendly. Charleston is about 15 miles but the traffic is really busy in the area. Would stay again if in the area.

There are signs in the office that there are no refunds for early departure. After staying there one night it was not hard to figure out why they posted them. There were multiple loud trains that sounded a very loud horn each time they passed throughout the night. We paid for 3 nights and left after one. If you can handle the trains, the campground seemed fine otherwise with nice level sites and a clean bath house.

Some what welcoming they need to fix there trails if someone that was older could not make it pass the bridge. they attempted to build a nice walking bridge and completely failed you have to walk through 5 inchs of water to get to the bridge 😠 I'm 17 could have made it better myself..

I gave 3 stars only because of Diane. She let us switch up our site based on the location of the utilities and we appreciated that. It went downhill from there. The gate was broken. The wifi didn't work. We wanted to have a fire, but someone had moved the fire pit into the grass and had filled it with trash. And the weeds had grown up, over, and around it. We went to the office early one morning to ask if someone could take a look at it and get it cleaned up, and we were told that it would be taken care of. We stopped back in the office that night and got excuses about why it hadn't been done yet, but were told that he would come over and take care of it. I wanted to get some wood, and she sent out her daughter out to open the bin where the firewood was, but it was empty. So, no firewood either. But that actually turned out to be a good thing because no one ever came to address the mess in the fire pit. If you do stay in one of the premium sites, ask for a site in row F (you may or may not get it), but you won't get dusted every time one of the long term people drives in and out on the road behind you.

I recently stayed there was scheduled for three weeks. The first day neighbor came over and told me make sure I locked my stuff they’ve had break-ins. The fourth night They had more break-ins. I packed up and left ( no refund) . I asked the front desk if they knew about the break-ins and they said yes the front gate hasn’t been broken. Im pay $475 a week they can fix gate ?They said it’d be a couple more weeks before they fix it. The front pads are nice the back looks like the ghetto. Laundry is filthy dirty in the grounds need maintenance very bad. This could be a fantastic campground, but it’s obvious they don’t no money back to. PS I have never left the review in 15 years of traveling in a camper. I’m very discouraged.

Such a beautiful, quant and quiet little campground that we absolutely loved. I’m not sure why anyone would give anything other than a 5 star rating other than nitpicking Nancy’s being petty! Everyone here, including the staff have been so kind, and welcoming. The campground, bathrooms and pool have some age to them, but they’re still very nice and super clean! Age is just a number when well taken care of! We loved that our RV site was a really nice concrete pad. We really enjoyed the salt water in ground pool that was very clean and clear! The bathrooms/showers were clean and always stocked. There is a nice little laundry room in between the men and women’s restroom/showers with drink/snack machines. They have a pavilion that appears to be under construction and will make a nice addition to this place. They also have a cute little playground for the kids. We all really enjoyed fishing in the stocked pond and watching all the ducks. We will definitely come back here again!

RV park is very nice situated. They are expanding Should also upgrade the outdated shower and laundry room. Very nice to stay

We had a 30AMP w/o sewer (by choice). No problem backing in, spots are far apart enough to be comfortable and secluded. Great views all around the campground!

Very nice campground. Roads coming in and out were very wide. No issues with trees. Small pool but looked really nice. Kids loved the playground. They are adding more spaces to the park, which is great. Staff was super helpful! We can't wait to come back.

I've been staying here about a month while working in the area and its been great. The folks at the front desk are friendly, helpful, and always smiling. You may see a bright white albino squirrel or funny black ducks walking around when you drive out in the morning. The whole park is surrounded by trees. Bathrooms and laundry are nice and never too busy or crowded . Fairly quiet most of the time, although there are trains that go by once in a while that can get a little loud, but that's not a fault of the campground. No complaints! Better experience at Lake Aire than the other campground in the area!

I previously gave this campground a 5 star review and I hate that I have to change it, but they SEVERELY ticked me off and disappointed me this past July 4th weekend, and the owner STILL hasn't gotten in touch with me after me speaking my concerns to 3 different staff members, plus his supposed best friend's wife. Our experiences and my review was too long for Google to accept, so please see the screen shots I attached for my review and why I have to now give it just 1 star- I would give it zero right now if it were an option. I know it looks like a lot to read, but PLEASE take the time to do so and you won't regret it. If nothing else, perhaps someone can find some sort of humor or entertainment from our displeasure. Also something to add/note: I overheard the maintenance guy telling another guy that the pool is actually in pretty bad disrepair and it has a huge crack in the foundation and he was actually surprised that it even passed inspection. A little concerning. It appears to be a salt water pool, but it smelled like a dirty pond and was cloudy. Also concerning.... but probably not as concerning as everything else in my review, so please take a look at the attachments. Thanks! UPDATE: I called back once again yesterday, 7/7/21 to check on our lost necklace AGAIN that they promised they would update us on and they haven't. Of course the girl who finally called back toward the end of the day was not there the day prior, so she knew nothing of the necklace or if anyone had found it. She told me she would check with maintenance again and let me know something, but still hasn't. I expressed my discontent with the owner still not contacting me about everything we went through while there and she knew nothing of that either, so I had to give her a summary. She stated that we should not have had to go through that nightmare and that she would certainly have Chris call me back and see what they could do for us, but I have still yet to hear from him 5 days later. I feel this is EXTREMELY unprofessional and as an owner, taking people's money, you should hold some sort of pride in the services you are offering, and if someone has as poor of an experience as we did, you should at the very least be concerned and want to listen to see what you could do to possibly change this in the future. Words cannot do justice to how taken advantage of I feel. I am reviewing this campground everywhere and in every way I can. Hopefully I can spare someone else from wasting their hard earned money here.
