Enjoyed a day there with the family! We walked with my sister and her baby with a stroller and it was very accessible to do so. So that was a plus! The ranger station is very informative. And the bog walk was very nice, lots of plants to check out!

I visited Lake Bemidji State Park for an evening hike on the Hiking Club Trail. Finding parking was a bit confusing at first—I usually rely on AllTrails for directions, and while they’re usually spot on, this time, it didn’t lead me to the exact location. While figuring out where to park, I had an unexpected encounter—a coyote locked eyes with me before casually going its own way once I stepped out of the car. That definitely made me pause for a second, debating whether I should go ahead with the hike. It was the off-season, not many people were around, and the evening was setting in. But after driving all that way, there was no way I was turning back without finishing my hike, haha! At the entrance, I noticed plenty of cabins, and it seemed like quite a few people were staying there for the season. The hiking club trail started off as a decent woodland path, but midway through, it transitioned into a bog walk, with informative signs along the way. I even saw some rabbits darting through the bog, which was a nice surprise. The trail ended with a scenic lake view, making for a peaceful finish. The bog walk was visually interesting, but if you’re looking for a more dynamic hiking experience, it might not be the most exciting. That said, it’s an easygoing trail with great scenery, perfect for a quiet, peaceful hike—hopefully without any more coyote standoffs, haha!

Bunch of awesome trails for biking and hiking. You get to see very old and tall pines. This park is one of a kind.

Looked like great amenities! The lady at front gate was friendly and helpful. Only went for a drive and one trail but loved this park! Whoever is managing it is doing a fantastic job! Very peaceful, great options for trails, boats, camping, picnic sites. Gorgeous views!

We set up with long time friends in the group site. We’ve been group site camping every Labor Day weekend for about 20 years. Bemidji state park is our 3 park, and we’re coming back for a second round. Fantastic site, great amenities, well maintained. Highly recommend.

Staff was wonderful, don’t bring anything over 35’ as the rods are narrow and the turns were just big enough for our 35’ fifth wheel. We originally booked site 47,m and we couldn’t get out fifth wheel in because of posts and trees across from the site. We went back up to the office and they gave us a list of sites available and Max pointed out which one that would be easy to get into. We chose site 70 and it was pretty easy to get into. The town has most every types want we got groceries, went to the “mall” to shop at Joanns and a thrift store. Finally washed our truck and got groceries at their Walmart.

Lake Bemidji State Park is a beautiful place for camping or fishing. They have lots of trails and pier for fishing. The lake is huge great for boating and grilling for barbecue. Since Bemidji has lots of forests black bears are known to be present therefore it is important if you go camping to make sure that you don't leave any food in or outside of your camper or tents. Safety is key. There is a fee of $7 for a day fishing or $52 a year. Check it out you won't be disappointed. Such a beautiful scenery.

Water level is low, no camp fires allowed. But between all the trails and other activities there was not a dull moment. Love this park and all it has to offer. Would suggest for all ages.

Classic MN state park, in a great spot on the lake with a beach. Founded in 1923 in some virgin forests, there are impressive trees here. The campsites are also far enough apart that it feels much more secluded than others where they are packed so close together. If you bring your boat there is a small marina so you don't need to have your boat on a trailer at night. If you are a cyclist, the Paul Bunyan state trail runs through the park.
