We love it there but this time there was. The sunrise is the best. But there was a bad smell like something died under the cabin. So we left a day early. We will be going again next year though.

Lake Carmi is one of my favorites. Every year we go camping on Labor Day weekend and plan with a close group of friends. It has turned into a tradition, so nice to spend time with them :). The sites are spacious, clean, and have plenty of room between neighbors. Gorgeous views right by the water. It is very quiet and peaceful at night as well, well respected.

The whole reason I picked this park was to spend the day in the beautiful lake. However, the beaches were all closed due to algae blooms and bacteria. When I asked, I was told that this happens every year. I asked if there was another beach nearby and they advised me to either drive an hour to another state park or go on Reddit to find a watering hole in a nearby town. Cell service is spotty in Vermont and I was nervous to take my toddler to an unmarked watering hole. Additionally, this is a huge state park but only has three shower locations. Bathrooms can be very far from your site and are in desperate need of upgrading. The staff was friendly, but it just want a good for for my family.

I enjoyed a great weekend with family and made new friends. Very quiet in B section. Highly recommend.
