This little campground is a gem. After a long day of driving on I-10, it’s a convenient place to get a good nights sleep. They don’t oversell themselves as some fancy resort. (Wish is refreshing.) We were fortunate to come across this campground our very first time cross country in our new 40 ft class A several years ago. The lay out is big rig friendly, the sites are large and flat. East to get here from the interstate. Clean restrooms, a small swing-set for children, and a fenced dog area. They sell propane. Very nice staff and close enough to some pretty decent places to eat. Always a win.

Lake Charles RV Resort by Rjourney is a nice campground, but the booking process was very disappointing. We called during normal business hours to make a reservation, and without telling us in advance, they added a $20 “booking fee” plus a $1.63 credit card fee. These charges were not disclosed before payment, which feels misleading and unfair. While the park itself is good, the way the fees are handled is not. Travelers deserve transparency, and we would not choose to stay here again unless this practice changes.

The manager is very nice. Easy on and off the interstate. This is a clean park with paved streets and long pull through spots. No pool no shade and the most expensive laundry in the last 12 states. Well into three rolls of quarters to do three loads. Nestled between a train switching yard and an interstate. It's fine with ear plugs. It's the best in the area for big rigs.

A nice clean and large campground with paved and level sites. Plenty of length for camper and truck. Not many trees but plenty of grass as wild bunny sightings. Everyone we met was very friendly. We even met a resident named Mrs Pat who gave us some pineapple jam and got a pic with us. Plenty of area for walking.

This campground is conveniently located and well kept. The man working in the office was friendly and helpful. The showers were clean and well maintained. I could see the highway but couldn’t hear it. The only issue I had were the trains. They went through all night blowing their horns as they went through the intersections. I finally got to sleep after the 1:55 am train went through. I tried to sleep in a bit but was awakened early as the train switching was going on nearby. If you are a deep sleeper this is a great stop. If you sleep like me, I’d find another spot.

DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND DRIVE ON BUY!! We were pulling in and thought we were met by a jail brake about a dozen not so well dressed and I won’t say what else but made me feel very uncomfortable as we were turning into the campground. The campground is no longer a KOA as the pictures show. The lady was cordial who checked us in and gave us directions to our campsite. We are in a Big Rig 42 ft and towing, the roads are narrow and not enough swing room to get in the site. Most of the sites the grass has been driven over. Once at our site we had to get out and move a picnic table to get in. Once in the site the only good thing we have to say about the place is the sites are level. While we were getting settled in our site here comes a go-cart leading a fifth wheel to their site and the people in the go-cart jump out move the picnic table and guide them in. ( GO FIGURE) The play area for children is a swing set with a tiny sliding board attached and the dog park is the smallest I have ever seen and they advertise lots of area to walk your dog. ( not where I would want to go). The bathrooms were in a trailer cannot tell you the condition as I never went in them. There are no trees or anything else to block the road noise. We have been traveling in an RV since 2007 but never anything as loud as this. I have never rated an RV PARK UNLESS IT WAS WONDERFUL BUT WHEN MY HUSBAND THE OLD SHOE IS UPSET IT IS TIME TO SAY SOMETHING!

Very well manicured RV Park. Staff was friendly and super helpful. Extra wide, level asphalt sites. Neighbors are close but not super close, as to be expected with "City" RV parks. This park had a ton of street lights, and very well lit. Easy on/off hwy 10. Some road noise heard outside but never inside our camper. Train tracks are behind campground, some noise heard throughout the day,, and we only heard a whistle at night maybe 2x during our week stay. No bumps, tight turns or trees to worry about here. Bathrooms are super clean. Laundry room was always clean, and machines are newer. Wifi was ok. Playground was nice.
