Need better signage to the different campgrounds as you come in as it was unclear & I found the sites a little too close together in the one campground I was in, although in some of the others the sites were very spacious. Also found the "feral swine may be in area" signs on the nature trails to be a bit disconcerting & didn't make me feel altogether safe. But overall a nice park & stopover on the road.

Nice small cabin called Trails End Cabin. Beautiful view of the lake with our own dock to fish off of. Pricing is very affordable. Will be returning soon.

We usually like it here. This time, we drove all the way and found every site with reserved on them. We were about ready to turn around and head home and hubby stopped and spoke with a host. He said the tags weren't true and its that the office is too lazy to come out and pull them. He said there were many available sites. So, we found one and settled in. Nice weather. Good spot. Clean restrooms.

We have enjoyed coming here with the family for years! They have trails to hike with lots of deer. The kids love the butterfly garden and enjoy picking out a painted rock and painting some of their own for other kids to enjoy. Night fishing is a blast for the catfish. Bathroom/ showers are definitely a plus! We always have a good time.

Great area with cute little cabins that are fully loaded and efficiently set up. Unfortunately the water was too high for swimming but we still had a blast! Great family vacation spot, the kids didn't want to leave. They were too busy chasing lizards to worry about high water😜

All we did was drive through to check it out,but it looked very inviting. We didn't get to see that amphitheatre. They did have a small butterfly garden area that looked cute.

I would love to give this place 5 stars, but can’t out of being an honest reviewer. Before I describe the reason for just 4, I’ll preface with the fact that all of the park employees I encountered were very friendly and all campers were friendly. The reason for it not being 5 is the swimming beach area and bathhouse were in need of TLC. There was decent amount of animal poop on the beach and trash. The bathrooms next to the beach is in need of serious attention. With that said, a bathhouse next to a busy lake/beach/swimming area is expect to not be pristine. But anything metal, was rusted thoroughly and the ceiling had years of cobwebs and accumulated dirt. Positives: cafe was neat and delicious. The playground was excellent and I didn’t see a single campsite I wouldn’t want to stay in. There are cabins that looked really nice from the outside and it was an all around nice area. Note: For those camping at the Rocky Cove campground, there is no bathhouse. Not a big deal for me but wanted to make sure those reading this know that. We will stay again because it’s a hidden little jewel one doesn’t expect in the location it’s in.

Fantastic park. The drive around the lake is beautiful. I stayed there recently, so there wasn't as much vegetation, but it was still really nice. The cafe was closed for the season, but the cute little town of Girard has many cafes and restaurants. Stayed in the newly refurbished cabins and they were immaculate. Super cozy and clean. Really want to return next summer for sure.

Of all the Kansas parks, my family, friends, and their dogs love Farlington Lake. A southeast Kansas pastime that allows you to enjoy the water, hiking, biking, beach, playgrounds, a hatchery, cabins, or camping spots. The water was perfect, people friendly, and the weather nice for a day cruising around on the kayaks. We always put in at the south boat ramp because it feels private and rarely has many people coming or going. Renting a cabin or securing a camping spot is easily done online.
