Lake Cumberland State Resort Park

We stayed in the lodge and our room was filled with bugs that we had to keep killing and removing. I understand that we are in a state park, but having visited and stayed at many national and state parks, this was incredibly dingy and gross. Front desk workers were incredibly nice and helpful, but unfortunately, we came here for a wedding, and the staff there was incredibly rude. They had resort workers working/serving the wedding and the older employees that were there were rude to us and other young people consistently throughout the night. The view does heavy lifting for this area, but truly would never recommend staying here and we will not be going back.

Really nice park... Has picnic tables spread around and walking trails where u will cross paths wild turkeys & deer. Beautiful scenery of the lake... some cliff points are high so take care when there. There is a hotel and restaurant here that I didn't visit but good that it's there. Salute to the competent rangers and staff that keep the park safe & clean for everyone.

Rented a two bedroom cabin for a birthday celebration. As soon as I walked in I knew there was mold. Also the place was not well maintained. See pics. My husband and I had to look for another place to stay as I am HIGHLY allergic to mold. I informed registration that I couldn't stay unless I could find a no mold room at the lodge they offered me an available room for the normal cost, but no money back on the cabin. I checked the room (it was next to indoor pool). It was almost as bad as the cabin.

We had our wedding here last weekend and it was literally our dream wedding! The staff was super accommodating and took care of us so well. I loved how affordable everything was and how everything is provided for you. You don’t have to find a bartender or catering, and they had great recommendations on our DJ who we ended up loving! The whole park is so beautiful and full of wildlife, we will definitely be celebrating our anniversaries here every year!

The bathroom is absolutely disgusting. Black mold, pink bacteria growing in the cracks. The shower curtain literally smelt like it was washed & forgotten to dry.. parking in front our cabin sadly didn’t happen till our stay was almost over… breakfast had absolutely 0 protein of any sort. Cereal, yogurt, toppings, bread, bagels. The girl who checked us in was the least bit of helpful on information for walking trails or waterfalls. Paying almost $400 for 2 nights & a disgusting bathroom is not something you expect. The pool being out & being notified a day before my trip (after my trip couldn’t be refunded) is also what put the nail in the coffin. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR & STAY ELSEWHERE!!! It’s a good location but seriously outdated, no one takes the time to deep clean the rooms & that’ll get someone extremely sick. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay longer than a night in the cabins till the BLACK MOLD & PINK BACTERIA gets taken care of entirely.

This place is AMAZING!!! Just beautiful and very friendly people! The deer will come right up to your vehicle to ask for a treat. :-) We saw a beaver swim by when we were on the pier. Beautiful cranes and just lovely wildlife and God's beautiful creation all around!!!

I will start by saying I only visited lake Cumberland resort on a work related trip. I do plan on spending a weekend there with my family and will be able to update this review with more info. But just scenery alone is getting 5 stars under location!

This facility is 5 stars! The beauty and pristine forest surrounding Lake Cumberland is one of the best in USA. I am fortunate to live within 3 hours of such an ecologically unique place. We saw many wildlife sightings including a fox and deer! The waitress at Rowena landing restaurant went above and beyond to make every meal memorable and seamless. The food is delish including catfish with a large array of fresh vegetables and even chocolate covered strawberries with mini cheesecakes for dessert. Thanks to Cumberland Lake's excellent chef and best dining in the area. The pool is well maintained and clean with plenty of fresh towels. I highly recommend this class act place to any family or couples looking for a special retreat! Will return soon, thanks!!

The cabin was nice but a bit dirty, The location was great for hitting the trails in the area, the only draw back was the path from cabins to lodge was closed off, so I had to walk the road. Close to Red River Gorge so perfect location for home base to explore the area. Best food Miguel Pizza, Thathers BBQ, and Daniel Boone Coffee shop, all the staff were friendly with the exception of the man running the chair lift at the bottom. If you want the Sky bridge to yourself, hike up at first light, I had the area to myself for 30 minutes then only saw two people at the bridge, hiked a few more areas, the Battleship rock and Devil's Gulch then back out to the lodge area for breakfast.

The one knife in the kitchen was so dull I couldn't cut summer sausage. Few or no utensils. We were in the deluxe 2 room cabin. All the furniture was old lumpy and scratched. The knobs on the lamps were broke so we couldn't turn them on. It would be nice to see the lake from the cabin deck. The activities were great especially the pool. Buffet was good.

Love this place! Been visiting this place since I was a child. The cabins are nice. They have everything you need for cooking. The beds are comfortable. There's a gameroom and swimming pool, hiking trails, an outside playground. Of course lake Cumberland. And all that comes with it. There's mini golf. And the horse stables. But they are only open certain time of the year

This was my first time back to the lodge in at least 10 years - it has been so well kept that it's almost like nothing has changed! The room had an excellent view, was very clean, and was a great price. The staff were all excellent, as was the food!

Overall the park is inviting and offers a lot of fun options. It is beautiful. I would caution attending the lodge and activities center during the winter months as the facilities struggle to be warm inside.

The entire experience was great. The girl who checked us in was super friendly and helpful and the cabin that we rented was just what we hoped for. It is situated on a bluff with a beautiful view of the lake. All three days that we were here there were deer all around us. This morning a small herd of them were about 10 ft away from the living room. Even in January the park is beautiful and our escape to nature was this what we needed.

Our second trip to LCSRP We rented a cabin for Thanksgiving weekend. It was a nice get away. Friendly resort staff, nice pool and game room. If you're going here, make sure to stock up on necessities before arriving! Nearest gas station is 20 minutes, nearest grocery is 35 minutes away. There's no camp/ country store (at least in winter).
