We live in Alaska and travel the southern states in the winter time. We have now stayed at this park twice and thoroughly enjoy the park, local community and the fishing. The staff there is unequalled and leading the charge is the campground host, Bill and his wife Rhonda. They are not only ambassadors for this park, but for the state of Louisiana. The nicest most professional folks you can ever hope to run across.

We have been here several times to stay in the cabins in the fall. It’s always beautiful. This time there was an extended “draw down” on the lake to clean up invasive species and such I guess. Maybe combined with a lack of rain? It was still eerily beautiful.

Would have been higher if the water was higher. Drought has taken its toll. BUT, the park and facilities were great. We only did a day visit, so didn't stay. Tennis courts, disc golf and great pavilions throughout. The restrooms were very clean. Definitely a go back park! Pictures are of the low lake level.

I recently stayed at this campground for the second time and once again had a fantastic experience. This place is a true relaxing retreat, with beautiful grounds and calming water views that make you feel completely at peace. The campsites are large and spacious, perfect for setting up a cozy campfire and enjoying the great outdoors. If you want a more level site, I recommend getting site 24 or 25 as some of the other sites can be a bit uneven. The gate can be a bit tricky to unlock, if you are out past dark, so be sure to have a flashlight handy and be prepared to get down on the ground to reach the lock. Overall, I highly recommend this campground to anyone looking for a tranquil getaway. I will definitely be back again in the future.

Great time spent fishing, living with nature, enjoying life away from city noise with my loved ones. The whole state park staff, specifically Demetrius were very professional, polite, extremely helpful to ensure we were enjoying our weekly stay. The whole experience exceeded my expectations. My wife (Vanessa) and I will return to this fantastic place.
