The park was beautiful and completely surrounded by nature. The closest grocery store is about 25-30 minutes away. Due to the time of year, we did deal with a ton of mosquitoes. The staff was friendly and helpful and drove through the campground regularly to survey the area. It was an extremely relaxing trip (other than the mid-day mosquito attacks!)

Great park, friendly staff. Word of warning to new comers don't follow GPS in from the south on levee rd, 14 miles you will regret. Most sites are nice and spacious but many the design engineers weren't RV smart. Many have water and electric on the wrong side and poorly located make sure you have long enough hoses and power cords will go again

We stayed one night on our way to Florida. Our full hook up waterfront campsite included a dock that extended over the river. Several alligators cruised by our dock in the evening. It felt like a true Louisiana bayou adventure. A rare chance to observe wildlife up close in its natural habitat. Be careful with dogs in this area. The gators showed zero fear of humans. The park itself is well maintained, with clean restrooms and friendly staff. The small trail system is easy to navigate and offers a great way to explore the surrounding wetlands on foot but wear a lot of bug spray. This is a great park and I wish we had planned for it to be more than an overnight. We will definitely be back.

Very nice. Trails are excellent. No the internet is very limited but that's why they call it camping. Rv spots are pretty much level

Hidden Gem! We spent 5 days here from west Texas and it was everything we could have hoped for! Beautifully maintained, clean showers and very quiet. Wildlife all around and docks to fish off of.

This is a beautiful park located in the Atchafalaya basin. Many of the sights are right on the water and have a dock/ deck over the water and there are some very good trails to explore in the park. It's a great place to disconnect from everyday life and slow down because there's no cell reception in the park. We had to drive eight miles to get a usable signal. Plan ahead. There are no close stores for groceries.

Okay folks, listen up got the tourist from Wisconsin perspective for ya! 1….GO HERE NOW! Stop what you’re doing and go kayaking with the alligators, best creepy thrills. So,so many water birds and turtles galore, peace and tranquility abound 2…Do not listen to google maps when coming from the south and go on atchafalaya basin levee road for 14 miles, it is a gravel road, and full of pot holes. Google says you are supposed to be going 55 on this road, so it take way longer than they say. The park tells you to loop around from the north. Listen to them. 3…those cabins on the water are looking amazing, hang right over the water and the cove they are on had abundant alligators. Might have to come back for those.

Beautiful small park on the Bayou. Each campsite had its own fishing pier. Such fun watching our Alligator friends swimming in the river. It is remote. No cell service.

Such a great state park to visit in Louisiana! We stayed here for a short weekend. The state park rents out small fishing boats, kayaks, and canoes. We brought and launched our own boat, which we were able to park at the cabins personal dock. We enjoyed riding our bikes as well. The cabin was filled with everything that we needed, including a coffee pot and bbq pit. Must visit this beautiful park!

Beautiful park with large level RV sites. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful here. There isn't much for trees between the sites but the size of your "backyard" makes up for it. Great water pressure, no issues with the 30amp electricity and the dump station is close enough to make it easy. The laundry facilities were sufficient and cheap but everything looked a bit rusty and could use an upgrade. Both this and the complete lack of ANY cellular signal dropped the rating to 4 stars for us. The long nature trails were being repaired as we stayed and they were coming along beautifully. Highly recommend this place if your looking to disconnect with technology and reconnect with nature!

We really enjoyed our Nartue Walk at the Lake today ! Weather conditions are awesome for camping at the Lake Park. Quite a few campers are still there from the weekend. The Cabins looked empty, my favorite place for special occasions or just chilling for the night!

I have so many great memories at this park !!! Cub scouts, family canoeing and picnics, etc. It's beautiful to see the alligators,, also.. I just tried my hand at kayaking by myself. The launch pad is too high for the water level. Please take care of this. In a kayak, the dock and kayak should be about the same in height. Thanks!

Amazing views! Perfect for a float through the bayou in either a kayak (like I rented) or a canoe. No cell service on river so make sure not to get lost most of the trail was marked but there were portions that weren’t clear. Gate staff were not very friendly and closed at 4 instead of 5. I was not off the river until 4:40 after getting lost and one of the staff in the park vehicles told me they forgot about me! Do not recommend without some sort of gps.
