Have camped there many times over the years. Since new management the campgrounds have been cleaned out (brush), docks upgraded/repaired. Very nice place to stay and very reasonably priced.

We drove down from Colorado and camped here for a few days. We had our vehicle breakdown on property and ended up needing a tow out but the whole staff was very helpful. We had a super sweet kid (Roman) I think was their name help us out with anything we needed. Definitely look forward to visiting again!

Massively overpriced for the the insufferably hot disgusting water that the guy told us “yeah you can swim in it” when it was worse looking than your average swamp. We asked if there were any trails, and the guy said yeah but didn’t tell us that the trails were horribly maintained with rotten bridge about to fall down. If you decide to go anyway, park before the entrance, it is free and you can still legally access the trails. You can probably walk to the “restricted” area without paying anyways. Great scam tho, well played.

We’ve been coming in this park for years! It’s a very pretty campground, small with lots of trees and shade. Always been a favorite but not sure what has happened!!?? Hardly anyone camps in this park now. We use to have to really plan and make our reservations out a bit but now…..next to empty!! One problem could be all the cast netters around the lake! We didn’t see as many in the water this time, maybe the rules have changed that they have to net out of a boat!? We saw lots of very old boats. As signs are posted to not clean fish in the park, the pier in the campground had been used as a cleaning station! I guess the big kicker is when we were leaving and 3 young men were cleaning fish at the DUMP STATION! Couldn’t believe it!!! I do believe this is a big problem in the park as to why people are no Longer camping here! And these cast netters cut through the campground!! They’ve done it to us!! And also, Saturday morning a very large revival with woman speaking Spanish as if she’s crying and very loud music! We don’t feel this is the appropriate place to have such revival! Park management…..please rethink your rules before the nice park is lost!!! Very concerned camper!!

Nice, clean park with picnic tables and grills. Small area to swim and a little fishing pier. Lake was full of sea grass under the water and didn't get one bite fishing. This would be a nice place to hang with the family but the prices are a little high at $7 a person 13 and over for day use.

We stayed in cabin 104 in late April 2022. The cabins have been renovated with new paint, plank floors, sinks/fixture, and appliances. They also now sell ice, firewood, and bait at the park office. We had a great experience at the cabin; the fishing was great; we purchased firewood and they delivered it to our cabin site. I highly recommend this park11

The campsites are well kept up and clean. Great fishing and a lot of fun. I've been coming to the park for 20+ years.

What has happened to the 3 mile trail linking Oak Thicket and Prairie Park? It’s so overgrown we had a hard time even following the trail in some parts. And the hog damage on the trail makes it nearly impossible to ride a bicycle on. What used to be a wonderful way to spend an hour or two hiking/biking around Lake Fayette is now a shell of its former self. Hopefully this is only temporary. Disappointing.
