Lake George Escape Campground is a fantastic place to stay! With around 600 sites, there’s something for everyone—50 and 30 amp hookups, full hookup sites, water/electric only, and even cabins and cottages. Some sites are pull-through, but most are back-in. The campground has a huge camp store, arcade, s’mores area with a big screen, mini golf, pool, playground, outdoor workout area and plenty of ponds and grassy areas to enjoy. I’m sure I’m even missing a few things! Bathrooms and showers are available (a little outdated with a very “camping feel,” spiders included), but they do the job. The laundry facilities were great—card or app-operated, which was so convenient. The campground is quiet, and we loved the gated entry/exit with a bar gate for added security. Also, the restaurant on the campground is fantastic- burgers, pizza, drinks! Starlink is tricky here due to heavy tree cover, but there are a few selective spots where it works if needed. The campground also offers tons of activities, and the Lake George area has so much to explore. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!

Nice camping grounds.some activities were not available like they said they had a kiddie pool and adult pool. We didn't see a kiddie pool and the only pool available was for everyone...pool was full of kids with their parents...no room to swim or relax. Also there wasn't a life guard present. There seemed to be a small water park for toddlers adjacent to the pool but that was closed and gated. Also bathrooms and showers could have been maintained a bit better. Especially showers. Shower curtains were ripped in some stalls...shower floors were constantly wet...hair always in shower . I made sure to shower with my flip flops. Shower pressure was poor. But plenty of hot water which was nice. Spaces were nice and kept well. Some were really big. General store was stocked with an array of many different goods. Including electronics in case you forgot anything and tools.they only accepted credit cards though as payment. No cash. A little pricey but camp shops usually are. For an last minute item or a forgotten item it's a life saver. Also you do have a price shopper 4 minutes away, also a McDonald's for those big Mac attacks and 8 minutes away you have a new wave diner for those famous hot dogs! With a variety of stores in between up and down the strip including a dollar general. So if your out getting wood and don't mind driving a couple of minutes away you pretty much have everything you need available to you! Staff in the office and store are very helpful and friendly. If you want to rent a golf cart it's a good idea to as this place has over 500 sites and trails to see. Just note that carts are designed to go really slow and the maximum speed limit is 5 mph. Some people bring their own carts and theirs go faster but still your only allowed to drive 5mph. Doggies are welcome and you need to bring proof of rabies vaccine. Bring a drill if you will. E putting up a pen or a gate as sites have gravel and pushing in stakes manually won't work well and make the gate unstable. But with a drill you can get the job done well. There's a full service bar next to the pool and drinks aren't expensive at all. You can also order food! Great place for family camping with the kids or without! A bit pricey high season as sites go from $100 a night to $150 a night on the weekends...carts are pretty much the same $100 a night and $125 on the weekends. Over all we had a great time! People were friendly and weather behaved!

I’ve been coming to Lake George Escape Campground for over 10 years, and unfortunately I’ve watched it go downhill. What used to be a great mix of camping options has now turned into mostly cabins, with very few (if any) tenting sites left. One of the best parts of this campground used to be the traditional camping experience, but it feels like that’s been pushed aside in favor of rentals. It’s disappointing to see the changes, especially for those of us who have been loyal campers here for years. While the property still has potential, the lack of tent sites really takes away from what made it special. I truly hope management reconsiders and brings back more space for tent campers in the future.

Sites are average size, close but with plenty of trees and shrubs in between to offer some privacy. Kids enjoyed the river and rope swing. Restaurant on site was convenient but not good or bad - basic counter service type stuff. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Beautiful area with plenty to see and do.

Always have a wonderful time at this campground. Kids love it there is so much to do and it is so spacious. Between fishing at the rivers and ponds. Kayaking and tubing down the Schroon River. Campground is very very clean. The kids favorite part was the arcade. The gentleman Dexter that runs it is awesome. He is great with the kids and just wants them to have a great time helps them win a lots of tickets, for some cool prizes. I highly recommend this campground with or without kids.
