We came up from Tennessee to visit friends and stayed for an extended weekend. Such a beautiful, peacefully park and campground. It was clean, quiet, and inexpensive. Check-in was easy and everyone was friendly. We will definitely stay again.

Camp host is a sweetheart. Huge campground with lots of places to camp. Have to make reservations 3 days out or you have to make one with the host the day of. The lake is gross and the wood sucks tho 👎🏻🤷🏻♀️

I give it only four stars for a couple reasons. Von the swimming beach is really bad. Definitely overgrown with algae and really not appealing at all to the kids. As lovely as the trees are, they should be trimmed back a little around the roads, especially in the campsite area, with an RV, it is hard to maneuver under low branches when they're rubbing and dragging along your couch. And my senior or disabled 20 year veteran status means nothing, unless I'm an Illinois resident. Those that serve, serve for the entire country, not just a state. But for the positives it is a lovely Park. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The camp hosts were incredibly awesome and very informative. The park was picturesque 😍 and the camping sites varied from small tent only sites to campers to large RVs. So even though there were some negatives, some that were minor and some that I thought were bigger but the positives more than outweighed the negatives so I'm giving it an overall low 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a hilly, picturesque space where people can spread out to hike, picnic, swim, or look for frogs, dragonflies, and eagles. The park is in a loop with lots of little parking lots, each one with an entirely different view of the lake, and it didn’t feel remotely crowded. Will definitely be back to explore again! There’s so much more to do.

well maintained, beautiful, peaceful state park with a small beach, clean and lots of toilets, showers! Camping is closed for the season and the leaves have fallen so we really can't tell between sunny or shady spots, but all seem nice with plenty of water sources
