Very disappointed in our recent stay. Someone was on the site our family reserved & we had to contact the office to inquire about having them move before our family arrived. We had not stayed here in 3 years & we're excited for the weekend events that were posted. There was supposedly a golf cart drag race scheduled for Noon on Sat. My family went down to park next to the pool area & watch an employee put cones out then walk away. We sat for over 30 mins & no employee came to facility the event. There was a car show event posted which never took place. We didn't even bother to go down to the office for the kids wooden derby car race as we were not confident it would happen & did not want to disappoint our children anymore. We will not be returning again needless to say. Do not post a theme or event weekend & not follow through or facilitate the events listed. Such false advertisement. We were excited to learn a jump pillow had been installed since out last stay. But soon disappointed in where it was located. It makes more sense to put the jump pillow near the playground for parents to be able to watch their children. We were not comfortable with the jump pillow being located so close to the entrance, road, and lake. It was a hot weekend & were told the lake was not open for swimming in due to state laws. If it is swim at your own risk with no lifeguard on duty then why were campers not allowed to use the lake to cool off. There was also a seasonal camper ringing a cow bell throughout the weekend to get weekend campers to be quiet. The weekend campers were not excessively loud or rude. They were simply having a nice weekend with karaoke and even stopped the music at 11 for quiet hours. The seasonal camper felt she needed to stand on her porch to ring a cow bell at 7am on Sat. And to ring the bell again late Sat night. Some seasonal campers were nice & friendly but others were not happy to have weekenders staying & made it clear we were not welcome.

I’m a bit shocked how there are any good reviews. The sites are OK, Flat, but only about 10% of them have fire rings and picnic tables. Maybe it’s because the season is almost over. But the amount of effort put in by staff here is pretty minimal. The “events” were not organized or coordinated at all, 1/2 of them didn’t even happen, nobody knew what was going on. It’s a beautiful lake! But they told us that “state law prohibits swimming in the lake after Labor Day”. Which is just not true. I understand closing the pool on Labor Day or whenever you choose, but to not allow kids to splash in the 3’ deep lagoon/lake when it’s 95° outside is a bit ridiculous. While not their fault. Loud Cargo planes from RFD fly over almost all night along with Blaring train horns here and there.

Our site was nicely shaded and spacious but had no fire ring or picnic table with it and had to move them from another empty site. The bath houses were extremely dirty. No trash cans around the overnight sites or near the playground. Dumpsters for trash were located pretty far away from the overnight sites. We were told pool was swim at your own risk as the filter wasn't working. We spent the day on the beach anyways but the inflatables were opened late due to staff moving them around. Pool and lake shut down at 6?! My kids were not happy about that as they are used to swimming until almost dark. Store was run by teens. No wifi in store so credit card payment had to be run off staff's phone. Most sites are seasonal and a lot are unkempt. To top it off, when we left, the dump station near our site was full when my husband tried empty our tanks! Most likely will not visit here again.

Been here 7 years. Only leaving due to personal reason. This place is wonderful. Corey and his family have worked hard to make this a clean fun family resort. I can't say enough good things about them. We are so going to miss this place. I know they are not done working on this and will continue to work on..they have a large whibit on the lake so fun. Nice pool and the friends and community is so nice. They really have come a long way. They also have snuggle board, pickle ball, basket ball court and you can rent gold carts. We really will miss this place and everyone. They also put on a great fireworks show fourth of July and typically the end of the season.
