Perched on the northwest side of the reservoir, the campground is easily accessed via FM 1913 near Fritch, TX. The terrain is characterized by dramatic bluffs and steep canyons that overlook the water. This high-plains environment offers a sense of solitude and vastness that is characteristic of the region. Travelers will appreciate the scenic overlooks that provide panoramic vistas of Lake Meredith, especially during the vibrant sunrise and sunset hours.

  • Covered picnic tables and grills at each site.
  • Access to vault toilets and trash collection.

The lake itself is a hub for boating and fishing, with anglers often catching walleye and bass. We did not have time to really explore the lake, but it did look beautiful. Stopped by the headquarters building to get our stamp and the ranger was very nice and helpful about points of interest. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Wonderful place for a rustic beach camp experience. The only downfall was the broken beer and liquor bottles and dirty soaked diapers on the ground. The bathrooms could have been maintained better but free is free.

Big reservoir. Pool is low. Lots of free camping around the lake. Seems like all the boat ramps are open. Lots of fishermen even though the weather windy.

This is a really nice recreation area. There is plenty of hiking and interesting things like Alibates flint quarry. The lake and views are fantastic and there is great wildlife, including roadrunners:-) This is a great area for a weekend trip. Would certainly recommend it for camping and hiking.

Great Lake with different places to camp , all of the have bathrooms , most of them showers . Boat ramps everywhere , make sure you pick the best one according to what your preferences are. Also make sure you keep your dog on a leash she was sprayed by a skunk. Snakes are swimming in the lake be careful and enjoy you time with beautiful views
