Beautiful views, wonderful environment, friendly and helpful staff, and incredible prices too. (We got an incredible site right next to the water for only $15/night.)

We stayed in the campground for about 5 nights, all spaces were nice, some bigger than others. We moved down by the lake and really enjoyed the view of the lake - very peaceful, the camp hosts were very helpful and nice. Everything was maintained well.

We just got back from a week at the Lake of the Ozarks, and it was one of those trips we’ll be talking about for a long time. We brought our two kids, and from the minute we got there, it was nonstop fun and quality family time. The lake life vibe was exactly what we needed—laid-back days, sunny skies, and plenty to explore. Whether we were grilling out, watching the kids swim, or just sitting by the water as the sun went down, it felt like we were in our own little world. The kids didn’t want to leave (and honestly, neither did we). From spontaneous lake swims to late-night laughs, this trip gave us everything we hoped for and more. It reminded us how important it is to unplug, be present, and make time for each other. Already counting down the days until we can go back.

Coat up in deet, the ticks are plentiful. camp near the lake if you want to be near lots of people and near the lake where you have water access and near the beach and Marina but if you want Solitude camp near the entrance at the upper camping lot. don't forget your beer because it's $20 for a 12-pack of Natty. and what is awesome about this place is the solid dude the peacefulness and you're only 20 minutes away from the most popular parts of the Lake of the Ozarks.

Park was clean. Site was clean. We stayed in loop 1 on the airport side. Sites are fairly spacious. Lots of trees!! Lots of wildlife!! There were deer in the park every evening. I was afraid the park was going to be super noisy and packed. We stayed in June. It actually wasnt, at all. Marina was nice if you wanted to go out on the water. There was quite a bit of construction in the park going on, which we were aware of. So cant fault the park for that. The only downside was the park store..its NOT big and really didnt carry any camping essentials. Drinks, ice, and a very small array of misc items. They do put wood outside at night, on the honor system...but they leave very few bundles out. Basically, hit up DG on your way into the park if you need to and make sure you grab wood before the park store closes! We had a great stay! I am a life-long camper and this is my first stay at THIS state park.

I loved hiking the Lakeview trail. I think we may have chosen the wrong time because there was construction going on. Although the sounds of wildlife included trucks and dozers we still witnessed our share of animals. I would visit again.

Not too terribly much to do here, at least at the part of the lake we were on. But definitely beautiful scenery and a PERFECT spot for some great photos. I’m sure it’s a little more active during the summer months with opportunities for boating and kayaking. Restrooms were not open in the park yet while we were there. The ranger station was nice and the employees were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

We visited Lake of the Ozarks State Park to tour the Ozark Caverns. The caverns were beautiful of course, and the tour guide was helpful and knowledgeable. My only gripe is that I felt the size of the groups was too large. There were so many people in the group it was sometimes difficult to hear the guide, if you had to stand in the back, or see some of the points of interest up close. It would be more enjoyable with a smaller group.

Moving to a new area can be daunting, but I've found so many beautiful experiences here. From watching stunning sunsets and exploring the little trails to catching an impromptu ball game at the baseball park, these moments have truly captured my heart. The Lake of the Ozarks, in particular, has been a highlight. I absolutely love being here and soaking in all the natural beauty this place has to offer.

We stayed in the campground section 4 and loved every moment. There were so many trees and the sites were far enough apart so it was nice and quiet. Our site had a beautiful view of the lake. There are no full-hookups and some of the trees were a bit tricky to maneuver our 30 ft pull-behind but it was all doable and worth it. We would definitely camp here again.
