The campground itself is cozy and located right by a small lake, with a beautiful view of the mountains. The setting is really nice and peaceful during the day. However, the RV sites are placed very close to each other. In the evening, our neighbors turned on what sounded like an air conditioner or some other equipment, and the constant monotonous noise made it impossible to sleep. The noise continued until around 8 a.m., and trying to sleep through it was a real challenge. Overall, the location and views are lovely, but the noise and the very close spacing between RV spots made our overnight stay quite uncomfortable.

We are hardened, discriminating travelers. Lake Olancha RVP&CG ranks among our favorites of the 100s of places we've stayed. We could have stayed anywhere at any cost in the fascinating and beautiful Owens Valley but chose Ignacio and Irene's place and its excellent value. . Even after decades of traveling the West, the East Sierra region escaped our notice until recently. US 395 is one of the nation's best drives, the history of the Owens Valley is fascinating, Whitney Portal is stunning to the point of near-disbelief, Owens "Lake" is INCREDIBLY photogenic (see photo), Sonora Pass (CA 108) north of Yosemite is excellent, and Yosemite is...well, uh...Yosemite. Lake Olancha is a perfect base camp and stopping point for exploration of the area. . Our cabin was spotless. Scenery was superior. Ignacio and Irene are very friendly, prompt, articulate, and ethical - the kind of people you want do business with. Other guests at the park spoke very well of them. Places like theirs blast vacations into the triumphant zone. A+++

Nice clean place with stunning views of the lake and mountains. The people here are great. Very helpful and polite. They have furniture on the docks so you can sit by the lake and relax while enjoying the views of the mountains. Peaceful and quiet. I highly recommend this place. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Our visit was Mar 2026. Nice quite park. RV spaces are pull through, easy to access and had full hook ups. The grounds were clean and well maintained. There was a caretaker on site that was very helpful. The small lake was nice with decks for lounging, one even had a slide into the lake for the kids. Great view of the mountains.

What a lovely little place! Don't be expecting lush grass; this is the desert. The mouth of Death Valley. But there is a real (teeny) lake with great access, clear water and good visibility for littles! They have paddle boards and kayaks to borrow, and a suspension bridge you can go across (nope) and probably jump off of (that would be my grandson). And your DOG can go in the lake! That's almost unheard of! The tennis court looks good enough, with a basket ball hoop at one end. They have lovely pavillion type structures at the side of the lake with a lovely view of the mountains. The staff is friendly and helpful, signing up and in was a breeze, What's not to like! Quiet. I'm hoping there will be good star visibility tonight! I will be back!
