What can I say? I saw this beautiful treasure as I was making my way down to my sister’s place. I don’t think I had ever really noticed it before so I pulled off the highway. I was surprised that the pay station was right there so, I thought, I’ll just ask if I can get a couple photos. The attendant immediately asked, “are you here for the day?” I said, “no I was just driving by and noticed the beautiful lake. Would you mind if I just took a couple of photos? He said, “$7”. Wow! I was in shock and I still am. It takes one interaction in a town to put a bad taste in one’s mouth and that was it.

Love the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area. If you go make sure to check out the museum as well as the lookout tower where you can see all sides of the lake. It has many trails to hike.

The museum has lots of info over the lake’s history. It’s a great place to go if you’re ever in Oroville to give you an idea of Oroville’s past.
