Lake Piru Rec Area

An excellent place to relax. There are swimming spots, volleyball courts, parking, and a designated campfire area. You can also go fishing.

This is the perfect place to camp. We came on a Thursday with no reservation and got in. We were the only ones on our side of the camp ground. It was clean, quiet and well maintained. it felt super safe while being in the thick of beautiful wilderness. What a dream to camp by a beautiful lake and mountains.

Great spot, very quiet except for one loud boat. We had the best location to ourselves, but park ranger still made us turn off music and keep our voices down after 10. Was suprised how empty the place was. Parking lots and boat ramps near empty all weekend.

Meh, it's ok. It's a pretty lake and area. You can't swim or even wade in to the water but you can kayak and I assum paddle board. Rangers are good, facilities are decent. The area itself is lovely. The campground is mostly tent camping but there are some hookups and I saw a few class A RVs.

I was part of a big group camping at Lake Piru in early October for the first time. We discovered a great place. We loved that there are showers available, boats for rent and even delivery of firewood to our sites. I reserved over the phone and customer service is great. I definitely recommend camping at Lake Piru.

Been coming here 40 years, still a short hop skip and jump from the city. Best for RV use but tent camping is fun as well. The Lake is cold and must be on a water craft to access. Open pit fires are ok and people are nice enough. Prices arent too bad for the area.

Amazing staff. Golf carts come around every 20 minutes and assist you in any means that you may have forgot. The offer wood for fire ice candy bars even outside internet. Clean campsites and boat ready water keep this place moving. If you're in the Fillmore area do not wait this is a Hidden Gem for campers of all sizes

Great Labor Day weekend spent here. We loved that it was less than 1 hour away from the valley. Sadly the lake is very low and we had to drive out to get to the water. We reserved spot 231 and it was perfect, shaded and only in the morning around 9-11am it gets sun, otherwise it's shaded all day long! The section we were in had about 20 spots with 4 designated porta potties on one end and 3 more on the other end. We loved that it is a dog friendly campground and for the most part if you have a good boy/girl they'll be safe off leash. There are patrol units(regular campground employees or sheriffs) and only once did a sheriff remind us to have our dogs on leash. We didn't rent any water craft or take any, but the lake is very low and we did have to drive to the swimmable area so be prepared to drive your car unless you plan on hiking. Also, you will loose phone signal under spectrum and T-Mobile, not sure about other service providers. I only used the shower once and it was $2.25 for 12 minutes.

We come up just about every year. Usually for a week at a time. Every year it's been a lovely experience. Most people respect the camp quiet times, thankfully! Lots of trails around the camp ground to walk as a family. The play area is fun for the kids and we've enjoyed the swim area. The bathrooms and showers are clean and get cleaned daily. All the campground crew and rangers are awesome. Thank you guys for all you do!

Wonderful camp grounds, lots are big and have electrical outlets (for those who like to glamp) we’ve actually been coming here since I was a little girls and it feels great to bring my girls here so they can have the same memories I had growing up. The lake is beautiful but lower than I remember. There is a beach area for swimming, I only saw one loading dock open again due to the water levels. Showers are decent the bathrooms are clean

The sites were flat and clean. The water was a little weird, there are spigots but some of the locals said they don’t drink from it and bring in bottled water. Restrooms were clean but damaged since some people are disrespectful. The staff cleaned/mopped the toilets twice while we were there! I’d go back for sure.

My favorite place to camp! They have electricity, hot showers, clean bathrooms, a sink station for washing dishes and washers and dryers if you need them. I love seeing the deer!

Very nice stay at this camping area, not a hotel. As this indicates. ðŸ¤ðŸ˜Š The camp hosts are so nice and friendly. We enjoyed our stay. It was nice, quiet, and so nice to see all the deer out and about. We got in some running and biking in the area.

It's an ok place to camp at for local quick weekend getaways. More favorable to camp here between fall thru spring, summers must get very hot.
