Small but beautiful state park in the north west part of Arkansas. A national scenic byway goes right past it. The young lady at the counter was extremely helpful and any questions she might not have known we're answered by the ranger. Definitely will recommend the park to my church who go on family campouts a few times a year. You can rent boats and the facilities were very clean!

Great park with lots of options for outdoor activity! Fishing on the lake was easy and nice; the visitors center has lots of free information and things to purchase!

Outstanding staff... love the critters in the gift shop. The Ranger was very versed on the wildlife in and around the area. Lots of walking trails, for a nature hike. The lake was beautiful. Very beautiful park altogether. I do recommend a visit if you have never been.

Beautiful and serene place for a quiet vacation. I stayed at a lake house and enjoyed all the views and surroundings.

Great place to fish, even though I didn't catch anything this time I have before, so I know there's fish in there, we just haven't figured out exactly where

TL;DR: Gorgeous hiking trails. We stopped by for the "First Day Hike" in Arkansas State Parks. We hiked on two of the trails. Pale-Wood Trail (1 mile loop) starts just behind the visitor center and features some good elevation change plenty of nature and comes close to a road. Beginner friendly and well maintained, but not wheelchair accessible. The Great Blue Heron Trail (1.1 mile loop) is gorgeous but partially flooded after a good rain. It leaves back and forth next to the lakeside with a great outlook. Just be sure to watch the trail markers as there is a second longer trail connected to it. This trail was special due to the multiple benches near or over the water. Also not wheelchair accessible. I highly recommend either trail for a first day hike and I anticipate it will be just as beautiful of not more in the spring. We also went on the

A big thumbs up to the staff of this state park, especially Jonathan was excellent! We participated on several activities he was leading. He was not only knowledgable and professional but also fun and entertaining! Very well maintained park and good facilities, recommended with kids!

Good state park but not sure how you can spot a Heron on the Great Blue Heron trail when you can't see the water. Part of trail at the beginning was closed.

From the staff to the campground itself, this campground is one of the best. It’s quiet and not too large, but has plenty to do like hiking trails around the lake and a playground. We stayed at Site 17 which was large and level. The bathrooms were exceptionally clean for a campground. We will absolutely be back to this campground.

I did not camp here; it was just a visit. The woman at the front desk was very nice and loved our dogs. The park is nice and wish they add some more campsites and fix a few things. The lake was redone and now open for fishing. We will camp here. There are 2 trails. There is a play ground and day use sites.
