The campground is beautiful and bathhouses and campsites were kept impressively clean but sad to say that this is the only positive I can say about Bald Ridge. The one campground host Cindy seems to be power tripping, (the other hosts are really nice) we go camping to relax and enjoy family time and forget about the worries of this world for a while. I do understand that rules are made and do need to be enforced. Cindy takes some of the rules to the extreme but does not enforce ALL the rules, she even makes her own rules. She drives around the campground in her vehicle three or four times a day and makes guests move anything that might be even slightly off the concrete driveway, ok, understandable. But yet the rules clearly state that NO electric scooters, hover boards, E bikes, ect. are not allowed in campground but both children and adults were riding them including Cindy. We were out walking our dogs and had children on E bikes about run us over. My husband and I are senior campers and are not new to visiting campgrounds. We were at Bald Ridge for 2 weeks and felt that we were constantly being watched and monitored. My brother and his wife (both senior citizens) and had their own campsite on the farthest side of the campground and came over for dinner and visit us at our campsite. My sister in law has a disability to where she cannot walk too well. There is no parking in the campground loops for visitors and or disabled/ handicapped people. My brother let his wife off at our campsite and parked his truck at the wash house with his camp site parking tag on display then walked a short way to our site. When he and his wife left to go back to their campsite about 10 pm. Cindy was parked at the swim area down the road and waited for him to drive by on the way back to his campsite. She then followed him back to his campsite just to tell him he could not park at the wash house, REALLY! Now she is stocking and harassing! This was suppose to be a fun and peaceful camping trip. We are senior citizens, not a bunch of rule breaking, rowdy youngsters (I wish)! We had seen the truck from the next campsite parked in the same place for two days. Hum, ok for some people but not my brother who had a disabled person with him and his truck was only parked there for a few hours. Then there was the constant annoying leaf blower! Every morning between 9 and 10 am. Yes, it is nice that they keep the grounds clean, but does it have to be EVERY morning even on the days when the winds were gusting to 35 mph, kinda useless. Just another note…if you decide to visit this campground in October and bring your boat expecting to use the boat dock, you will be disappointed. It was not in the water as the lake level was very low. We could launch our boat on the ramp but we could not use the dock which left our family member with a disability unable to enjoy going out on the boat leaving her sitting at the camp site.

Bald Ridge is amazing and so is Mrs. Cindy! There are rules to follow they are posted for everyone to view. Everyone is friendly, polite and helpful when you need it. If you are looking for quiet, and peaceful place to relax this is the place to be! I have read the reviews and can honestly say the negative reviews are bias and completely false they just want to bully people into breaking the rules!! Mrs. Cindy does an amazing job here at the campgrounds I look forward to seeing her smiling face at every visit!!

I don’t know how many bad reviews need to be posted about the same person before action is taken, but count this as another one for Cindy! She seems determined to ruin the experience of everyone involved. She selectively enforces rules against those that she doesn’t know and makes up some rules of her own. She does all this under the guise of a “complaint” made by another camper. What camper complains that there are too many people standing on a site not near them? We informed Cindy our group would eating meals together and Cindy approved it so we would book. Now that we are here she says we can’t eat together and she thought we would be grabbing food from one site and going back to our own to eat. Doesn’t sound like normal behavior. Whomever is in charge of this park should seriously review how many negative reviews you have specifically mentioning Cindy. Update: I just got off the phone with Kerri, who is Cindy's supervisor and basically her response to my complaints about Cindy is that people don't like being told to follow the rules and Cindy enforces the rules, so that's why she gets so many complaints. She also said that the Core didn't enforce the rules and now the County is having to and people don't like it. I asked how was it the rules fault that Cindy booked a large group and then tried to kick them out for gathering together, after she had approved the gathering? Her response was, "he said, she said" Maybe the county needs to look into the management of these parks and start moving some money around if bad apples like Cindy are continually protected.

The campground itself is absolutely beautiful — peaceful, well-kept, and surrounded by nature. Unfortunately, the experience was spoiled by the campsite host, who seems to think she’s running her own Magic Kingdom. Everything was a no — no gathering, no talking too long, no worship, no music, no fun unless it’s on her terms. Our church group simply congregated peacefully, and she called the cops. She clearly loves Disney, but it’s like she modeled herself after the evil queen instead of the friendly characters. Minnie would never!! If you’re looking for a relaxing, welcoming camping trip, the scenery is worth it — but be prepared to walk on eggshells around the host.

If you enjoy being scolded for eating dinner with friends, this is the campground for you! Our church group rented 11 campsites at Bald Ridge Creek, hoping for a peaceful weekend by the lake, but apparently, fellowship is frowned upon here. Cindy, the host for our area of the campground, seemed personally offended by the sight of people congregating (you know… like campers do). She also wasn’t thrilled about the idea of an electric piano being played, apparently, even a few peaceful worship songs were too lively for her taste. She must think she’s a Disney princess and this campground is her kingdom. Sadly, it seems Cindy is discriminating against Christian fellowship. By the end of the trip, it was clear we’d accidentally purchased The FastPass to Disappointment. To top it all off, the sheriff gets called out here more often than the raccoons do, thanks to Cindy’s overzealous rule enforcement. If you’re looking for a campground where kindness, community, and common sense are welcome, you might want to look elsewhere.

We have been camping at Bald Ridge for 5 years now. It is like our second home during the summer months. We love the changes Forsyth County has made to the park and we love Cindy, the camp host. She knows our son by name and always greats us with a smile. They do fun activities for the kids on holidays and she always makes an effort to chat if she has time. Anytime we have had an issue Cindy has been very easy to reach and very helpful. This is a great campground that is very family focused and quiet. The boat ramp is easy to access and if you want to paddle board or kayak the coves are great for that.

Nice camp site and great amenities. But the lady who works at the gate is ridiculously rude. I hope you don’t have to deal with her.

It's painful for me to have to rate this place so poorly. I've been camping at this beautiful facility with my family for 20 years. The Corps let it really go downhill the last few years, and our first visit with Forsyth County in charge last spring was incredibly improved. Everything was clean and the installation of gates made everything much smoother. There was an employee who accused the group of families who were camping with us of defecating in the showers, but we were eventually able to show her that the feces was backing up from the pipes and they probably needed to get a plumber out. Well, hold your horses. This time we realized at the beginning of the week a hurricane was coming. A few of our friends had decided they couldn't justify the expense of camper rentals for their four-night stays if 2-3 of the nights were going to be too dangerous, so a few canceled. A few asked if they would be able to come on Saturday and the gate attendant said no. Fair enough; they hadn't paid to come. Somehow, however, the attendant decided that our group intended to cram the campground full with all the families who had canceled in order to cheat the campground out of their facility fees. She started harassing every family who checked in, accusing them of nasty things from scamming the campground to adultery (I wish I were kidding!). She told the park rangers we had exceeded capacity, when the average number of people on our sites was only 5. She claimed we were blocking bathrooms even though there were always at least three spaces open. One family who had paid for a reservation came in on the second day because of medical difficulties and she told them she was not going to let them in because they were over capacity - they absolutely were not - and threatened to fine them $200 and ban them for a year! When she relented and they asked what time the gates were closed because their adult son needed to come in after work, she refused to tell them. She told several of my friends, who are literally the sweetest people I have ever met in my life and I've never heard raise their voice or be rude to anyone in decades of friendship, that they were the rudest people she ever met. She kept making up rules that didn't exist, like banning us from parking at the beach or from bringing in visitors even though they were pre-planned official visitors of sites that had plenty of extra capacity and the rules specifically allow visitors until 9:30. If she decided to grant an exception to her made-up rules, she acted like she was doing a great favor to a truly offensive transgressor, and that they were lucky they weren't getting fined $200 and banned for a year. This woman is in the wrong job. She has no business working directly with customers. I see from other reviews in the past year that she has been abusing other guests, as well. Several of the vendors who delivered RVs for some of our families also said she is the rudest person they've ever seen at a campground. Forsyth County has to do something about this situation. She either needs retraining or reassignment.

I was there July 11, I wanted to see the campground closely and then I wanted to stay here. But I change my mind at the front entrance when I meet the attendant person. She was soooo rude. States must give more education to the staff. State park administration has to improve their staff's communication skills. Staff have to improve personal communication skills. Especially that kind of vacation place's staff must be educated. If you think stop by Bald Ridge campground be prepared for someone who is a rude person to destroy your vacation. If you are planning to stay here, think one more time, I recommend going to the Shawnee campground. Don't waste your time here keep your energy up.

Quiet campground as only persons allowed in are campers (no day use passes). Paved area for parking, very clean site and well maintained. Bathroom house by dump station is brand new and immaculate. I don't think there are laundry locations, maybe removed when bath houses were updated but could have missed it. Cell service just great for Verizon. We weren't given a gate code upon arrival so that took a while to track down a campground host during gate house office hours to get it. Some campsites had dogs off leash so that was a bit annoying for our dog since he didn't understand why he had to be wearing his leash.

This place is absolutely beautiful. The spots are large and spacious. There is not a bad spot in the park. It is ran well and has great bathouses. Very dog friendly. The only thing I wish was different was there could be more places for trash. The camp hosts were extra nice as well.

We stayed at site 43 and we were twentyish feet back from the water. We opened our front door and the lake was right there, a beautiful site (probably the best in the camp ground). Restrooms were clean and well taken care of. There are several sites set back up in the woods without views if the lake, so be sure you know what kind of site you are getting.

Very nice campground! Some of the sites are a little too exposed if you are tent camping. Great upgraded showers. At least in the men's room. Great drainage system so there isn't water all over the floor. Will definitely stay here again.

What is up with the extremely loud blower every morning at 7:15??? We are on vacation and it’s the weekend. Cleaning and closing the bathrooms in prime shower constitution time is not a good idea. Nice camp site. Good location. Friendly staff. Good facilities. Nice beach area. Clean showers is a big plus. Turn off the blower!
