Great campground. Paved roads and sites. 50 amp electric and water with clean dump station. Additionally, we had a heavy night of rain and our firepit was under water. We asked the host if he could move it which he did immediately and we were able to have a fire. š

This is a 6 STAR Forsyth County Campground! Jerry and his staff go over the top to make your stay a wonderful experience. The facilities are very, very clean the sites and playground are extremely well maintained. I love the staff's positive attitude and welcoming spirit towards accommodating any needs a camper may have during their visit.

I stayed the weekend and it was so nice. Hosts were awesome. Jerry, the manager, is kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming. For those that haven't stayed here, you're missing out. It's a small campground, but the sites are spread out and shady. It's very convenient to GA 400 and shopping/ restaurants, while having many lake sites. I will definitely be back.

We love this campground! And the manager Jerry is so customer service oriented and extremely friendly. While we were there, he or his staff were very available when we needed something. The campground is very clean and the sites are excellent. We have already been twice and we will definitely go back!

Other guests were incredibly rude and started playing in the water at our campsite invading our space and calm area even though they had their own site. The host came over and talked to them but still didn't make them leave. The rest of our quiet afternoon was ruined. Will not be going back.

We only camped one night but had a great time. The check in hosts (Trish and Will, I believe?) we extremely kind and helpful. The waterside sites are gorgeous but I would avoid the sites that back up to Buford Dam Road due to noise and lack of scenery. We were in site 7, which is quite small for a trailer. Ours is 16 feet and I would not try with something larger. Ideal for tents though. The bathrooms were clean but very minimal. No trash cans in the bathrooms, so please pack your garbage out. There are bins outside the bathroom. I did notice the dumpster was overflowing and needed to be picked up. The campground was very quiet at night, but be aware, there are houses across the lake from some of the sites. It could get noisy especially around summer holidays. We live locally and are familiar with Lake Lanier. There is lots of do here for recreation and there are stores and restaurants nearby. We will be back to Sawnee for another staycation in the future!

I have tried to call for several days; however no one picks up. I am wondering if it will be ok to bring firewood sourced within 1/2 mile of the campground. I guess I'll drive over and ask... Uff Da

I would like to start off by saying I have never camped here and sadly I will never camp here based on my experience with the person at the gate. I have family in the area and was wanting to take a 10 minute drive through the facility to see spots that might work for my RV and make sure it was going to work. I was told that they don't let anyone drive through even for 15 mins on Fri-Sun. Of course being from another state I was not able to just drive down through the weekdays. This is totally asinine as I have camped in many COE campgrounds and I have never been told I couldn't just drive through real quick to make some notes on what sites might work and to make sure its OK to navigate with my specific rig size. I can see I am not the only person who has had an issue with the front gate attendant! I will take my money elsewhere.

Not that bad of a place, I dunno what people are saying about a rude gate person but I had 0 issues. Camping sites are decent, however the only thing that gets me is the gates close at 1030 pm with no access past that time. Thereās no where to park if you arrive after hours from being out exploring the town. This is one of the only places Iāve been to that didnāt have a gate code for access, and Iāve traveled. There are quite a few fire ants here. Well quite a lot. Security here is decent with a sheriff making their rounds every few hours which is nice. Would be nice if they added a gate with a gate code alternating every week like everywhere Iāve been in the US.
