Anglers frequent the lake for its abundant hybrid striped bass and white crappie. For a local excursion, travelers can visit the historic town of Brenham to tour the Blue Bell Creamery or explore the various museums and boutiques in nearby Caldwell.

Campsites look good. Each site is secluded. Trails are more shaded compared to Nails Creek unit of the Park. Probably better to come here during Spring time. Water level is low in the Fall.

It was a very nice park.We only stayed one night. We were out of electricity, most of the time. Ranger did come during business hours to fix it, but then it went out again. Could not reach anyone to come fix it.

Nice secluded campsites. Water and electric at most sites. Pretty lake with a nice little Beach. Are only issue was we lost power during the open hours, ranger came and fixed it. Then we lost power in the evening and could not reach anybody to come and fix, it so all night without AC.

This entire lake is my playground. If you haven't already been to Birch Creek, you need to come check it out, kayak rental, swimming, camping, public use area with grills and picnic tables and restrooms. Always clean, friendly staff with plenty of hiking and biking trails. Don't forget your fishing pole, no need for a fishing license in a state park 😊 as long as your bank fishing.

Great state park! Fairly clean and well maintained. There is a lake with a boat ramp for fishing and kayaking. Spigots and bathroom have good water pressure and temperature. Nice fire pits and tables.
