The campground is one of our favorites but the roads in and around the campsites are awful. You could break an axel if you don't drive 5mph or less and try to avoid the huge potholes.

I’m a member of thousand trails and love that I have the park to park program so when I do decide to travel, I can easily move from location to location. I like this location just wish they could do something about the really rough road on the way in. They always offer activities. If you’re there on the weekend just always friendly nice people to speak to that are helpful if you ever need anything and will visit probably fairly frequently.

We enjoy camping here at Thousand Trails. The roads are in desperate need of repairs and they need an electrician to check out all of their sites here. We have had to move after setting up because of faulty electrical outlets. The breaker where we are now keeps coming loose and we keep loosing power at night . My husband has had to go out in rain to fix it. Now he is sick!! Please hire a maintenance crew for electrical and the road!! The pull through sites are limited to the above problems!!

If you're looking for the perfect place to camp, this is it! Friendly staff, endless amenities for adults and children. Seems like it's in the middle of nowhere when you're out here, but it's only minutes from downtown Whitney. Love this place!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I recently stayed at Thousand Trails Lake Whitney and overall found it to be a mixed experience with both positives and areas that could be improved. The property itself is quite large, which gives you plenty of space to spread out, but also means a lot of driving around if you want to reach certain amenities like the two pools. Both pools were enjoyable and well-maintained, making them a nice highlight of the stay. One of the things I appreciated most was how clean the bathrooms were. They were spotless every time I used them, which is a big plus compared to other campgrounds I’ve visited. Another standout feature was the convenience of having a dedicated text phone number to reach the park rangers. It felt modern, efficient, and much easier than having to track someone down in person or wait at an office. On the flip side, there are a few drawbacks to note. The roads throughout the property have several large potholes, and this can be challenging if you’re driving an RV or towing a camper. It’s something to be mindful of, as it definitely affects the comfort of getting around inside the park. Also, despite being advertised as “Lake Whitney,” there’s no direct access to the lake from the campground and no real view of the water. For anyone expecting lakeside camping or fishing right from the property, this could be a disappointment. In summary, Thousand Trails Lake Whitney offers a spacious campground with clean facilities, good pool options, and helpful ranger support. However, the road conditions and lack of lake access are definite downsides. With a bit of road maintenance and clearer advertising, it could become a much desired destination.

Starting with the good... 1) shaded spots-good for summer camping. 2) quiet and peaceful. 3) nice staff. Not so good...1) roads are atrocious. Not fun driving on...at all. Dreaded going to the lodge to do laundry because there isn't one spot that is in tact. 2) far from most things 3) unlevel spaces with low lying tree restricting where you can park. 4) the game room and exercise room amenities are sad and in need of replacing .

Had a great time. This is a big campground with plenty of space between lots.

A work on process, several sites closed for electrical reasons. Rangers are all very nice and helpful. Lots of trails, and can spend time at Lake Whitney.

Spent 2 weeks with my family here in January. Was cold, but not much you can do about that. We enjoyed some of the hikes and the kids loved the mini golf. The sites are pretty well spaced out and beautiful in the woods. The bathrooms were fine, showers were hot, and clean enough. We would definitely come back especially since this is inside of our thousand trails membership. Full recommend! It was a bit odd that they had you pull through to go pick out and find your campsite, but they were not able to tell you which ones had functioning electric hook ups, so you had to test to make sure before you finalized your choice. A lot of sites were down.

Always a great time just getting a bike ride and some fun in before work!
