The cabins are tiny, which we knew but the beds (if you want to call them that) are tiny, very thin pads that sit on wood that you can feel. I'm a very fit athlete so it's not like I weighed the pad down. It was like sleeping on a rocky ground. Service was a roller coaster... I called days in advance to make sure we had a cabin and that I'd be able to get in after 10pm due to it being a 4hr drive after work (I was traveling for work). They assured me we would be able to get in and someone is available 24/7. We pull in at 10 and we're told there was no key left for us and the ranger station is locked and something happened to our cabin so we couldn't be in the one I picked either. The lady at the gate was very kind and went above and beyond by making phone calls and getting someone to the ranger station so we could get in (she was an angel). Location is fine, pending on what you're there for. It has a lot of potential and a lot of neat things, but it's very run down and doesn't seem kept up very well. My 5yr old is great at making the best of things so he had fun.

Great location for visiting Chicago was the basic reason we stayed here. Our site was fine although it was mentioned slightly negatively in another review. Speaking of other reviews, ya, most of them are pretty accurate. This place is probably more "low-income housing" than "resort" for sure. We're medium to low income kind of people ourselves so we weren't as bothered as some people might be staying here. We had a good experience, did some laundry and had a bit of trouble but ended up being handled equitably enough. If you want to visit Chicago with an RV, this is the only place within an hour long drive. It was worth it for us and we would do it again. Just don't plan on it being the "resort" it advertises itself as!

Not perfect, yet not bad. Scheduling a camping site was pulling teeth nobody was answering the phone, returning voicemails, or answering facebook messages. 3 weeks later someone got back to us. The reviews were bad, but it was a perfect campground for kids. They had events everyday, pools, bounce pad, plenty of room to bike. My kids loved it. Bathrooms were clean. Very close to the Dunes. The spots are smashed together, but that is expected for a campground resort close to Chicago. Will go back! Sincerely Iowa.

This place is awful let me start off by saying IT'S NOT A JELLYSTONE!! It might have been at one point not anymore!! They have gambling night there which is cool but they do it in the arcade then the children have nowhere to go when it is dark and play. Our campsite had no electricity for our RV for the first 6 hours they sent a handy man he did is best but wasn't an electrician so it took forever. They they never offered any compensation for the troubles. The entire compound stinks like sewer. The laundry facilities are all broke and eat your money. There are ground hornets everywhere. The whole property needed mowed badly grass up to your knees. Pools and lake open late in the morning. The place is just run down. We wanted to like it but they make it hard. We won't be back.

If you like broken water lines, cold showers, and being lied to, this is the place for you! Bathroom by our cabin? No hot water. Do you want cold water? Better hope the water main didn't break (happened multiple times during our stay) “Many amenities”? More like many out of order signs, except they don't even bother to hang a sign, you can figure it out after you pay. The office promised boats and swimming at 10am—lifeguard wandered in around 11:30. Called about camp store closing time, they said 9pm… but apparently meant “whenever we feel like it” because they locked up before 8. Nothing opens until noon, so mornings are just staring at closed doors. Beach was “open,” but actually closed for “water testing”—because apparently that takes all day. The pool? Over-chlorinated enough to give you a chemical burn, closed for 10 minutes every hour, and shut down entirely from 3–4pm daily. And the bunk beds? The gaps between the bars are big enough for an adult’s entire body to fall through so, great if you like a side of danger with your camping. Would not recommend unless your hobby is being disappointed.
