This is the absolute BEST Campground we have ever been to, EVER, and we've been to quite a few over our 40+ years of camping across the country! It is extremely clean and well kept. The grounds are beautiful with many trees and immaculate grass with level sites. The bathhouse is very clean. Nice laundry onsite. It's gated so you always feel safe. It is very peaceful, and, the best part, it's QUIET! Yes, they have many rules to keep the campground clean, safe, peaceful and quite, and we appreciate those rules!! We go camping to get away from the noise and hustle bustle of everyday life. If you want to have a party or a bunch of people at your site, this is not the place for you. If you want peace and quiet, I HIGHLY recommend Lakeshore! The Owners, Joyce and Craig are very nice people and very accommodating - Thank you for making our stay so relaxing and pleasant! We stayed there for a month and if we ever have the chance to visit the Oelwein area again, we will definitely stay at Lakeshore.

We usually go somewhere else and found this place by accident. It's off the beaten path but it was absolutely beautiful. Super clean with a great view of the lake, which they have a private beach with a roped off swimming area. We can't say enough about the two owners Joyce and Craig. They were super friendly and helpful. I had surgery days prior to showing up and Craig helped disconnect my tow dolly without hesitation. We extended and they accommodated us without a single question. The price was perfect and we plan on returning the next time we are traveling through the area.

I wanna say this is the best campground we have ever been to we liked it so much that we are planning on going seasonal here Craig and Joyce are great people there is a lot to do for the family it is a very quiet place and very clean thank you for letting us enjoy your campground. There are tons of rules for everything. Check-in took way too long, and we were out in a not shaded spot when there were plenty spots around us that were shaded. Also, you don't get to pick your spot they are assigned. Visitors have to be allowed in at the card entry gate and pay $5 to visit. If you have 1 camp site you can have 4 adult visitor and their kids, 2 camp sites with family you can only have 2 adult visitors with kids and if there are 3 campers in your group you can have no visitors. On the plus side, it is a very well-kept campground with a nice shower house and lake with a sand beach.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this campground! From the moment we arrived, it was clear how impeccably well-kept the entire property is—clean, organized, and thoughtfully laid out. The owners were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from check-in to check-out. What truly sets this place apart is how family-friendly it is. The campsites are large and there are so many activities for the kids! Between the playground, Gaga Ball pit, Pickleball, mini golf, carpet ball, beautifully kept beach, and access to a paved trail, our kids were entertained from sunrise to sunset. It’s important to note that this is not your party place—quiet time starts at 10pm and is respectfully observed. But that’s exactly what makes it perfect for those looking for a low-key, peaceful weekend. Whether you're looking to unwind or keep the kids busy in a safe and fun environment, this campground strikes the perfect balance. Highly recommend to families or anyone seeking a clean, quiet, and enjoyable camping experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Stayed here for a week in September near the end of the season and it was fantastic. Quiet, well maintained park with exteemely nice owners. You can tell they put a lot of work into this place, especially since it's really just Joyce and Craig running the place. Had a couple great conversations with them. I had never been to Iowa before, and this place made me fall in love with it. Beautiful land and nice people. An overall relaxing place to be. The one-star reviews, in my opinion, are full of people who expected a place where they can get drunk and rowdy like some other RV parks will let you. This just isn't the place for that, and that's okay.

Owners are amazing and super helpful! So much to do with our 4 kids while also doing it in a wonderful family and relaxed environment. Very reasonably priced for everything they offer. The mini golf, Bingo, and carpet ball were a huge hit with the kids (and myself). If I could give them 6 stars I would!!! Definitely a must stay!

Joyce and Craig are wonderful! My husband and I had so much fun playing mini-golf. They offer so much more, but we were out of time. If you want beauty, service, peace and quiet, fun, level sites, and a wonderful experience, stay at Lakeshore RV Resort and Campground in Oelwein IA! You will not be disappointed!

Camped here for a week just to get comfortable with our new fifth wheel. Nice place, very well maintained. I liked the security of the gated campground. However, It is a little more quiet than I would like. We like to sit around a campfire with music and enjoy meeting and talking to other campers. Rarely saw people outside their campers. If you like a quiet campground, this is perfect for you!

Lakeshore RV Resort was an excellent camping experience for us! The grounds are very well kept with spacious campsites to fit any size camper or RV. You are within walking distance to the beautiful lake where we enjoyed fishing. The campground is just a mile from town so you can easily pickup anything you may have forgotten. It's definitely a quiet place to relax and getaway. Joyce and Craig, the owners, are very hospitable and accommodating and want to make sure your stay is the best it can be! We will be back to visit next season!

We have traveled all over the country and this is absolutely the most well kept and run of all our experiences. Craig and Joyce run a tight ship and maintain the extremely spacious yards as if it were a golf course. If you like the quiet and beauty with plenty of space this is definitely the place to stay. We read some of the reviews from disgruntled guests but came to see for ourselves. We enjoyed this summer so much that we are coming back in 2022 for the whole season. Craig and Joyce have turned out to be very extraordinarily hard working and concerned with keeping their guests experience a safe and quiet one.

This RV Park is so clean. Joyce met us at the Gate and escorted us to our RV site. Everyone was so friendly and nice. They even had a magic show which really cater to the kids and it was off the charts. I loved watching the kids go up and be volunteers for the magician. Very relaxing and quiet place, we stayed two days and will definitely be going back. Thank you so much Joyce for making us feel at home. Will see you again soon. Steve and Connie

We visited here over Labor Day weekend in our 30 ft class A RV. We would love to come again. Very kid friendly, the park/beach area is great for kids to play and run around. Their Gaga ball pit is covered so you aren’t getting blasted by the sun. CLEAN and well cared for sites. We loved how there was space between each site. We had a great experience here and would recommend to anyone.

Owners are very strict and don’t trust you. I feel like they stalk your campsite while you are gone. Been here a few times and doubt I will bring the family back due to feeling like you are walking in egg shells. They make you feel like child and can’t be trusted.
