As race fans, we loved coming to Lakeview twice a year. This year the ownership has changed (or at least we were told) and the woman at the front desk is extremely rude and snarky. Last year I won a 4-day stay playing bingo. We called to book and she didn’t want to honor it. My husband sent documentation and then was told they were booked solid. He persisted and finally we were given a site. Once here, things did not improve. My daughters and I walked to the little store to buy ice cream. I asked the same woman about booking for next year. She commented that they are no longer “catering to” race fans and will be 100% permanent residents. I asked if they would have karaoke, bingo or other activities that they usually provide for race fans and their families. She informed me that they’re spending their funds on permanent residents now. I asked about nearby rv parks and she snapped, “none with amenities like ours”. Okay… Oddly enough, they were far from full this trip and we found several RV resorts in the area. We did not feel welcome here. Also, the playground was removed, the horseshoe area gone, and access to the lake limited. The boat area seems abandoned.

Nice big level sites got there to check in and the manager called me by name. Kids seemed to love it here and the pool and very quiet park other than our loud mouth kid lol!!! We will definitely be back when softball allows!

Stayed for three nights while fishing the South Holston and Watauga. Tried calling three times during business hours for a reservation and left two messages, never got a call back. I ended up reserving on line with a Sunday arrival. The office is closed on Sundays and there are no signs/directions on how to check in after hours. I ended up calling the emergency number posted and Larry did come quickly to get checked in. The water supply at my site leaked from the base. It didnt really affect anything but I did turn the water off while not at the site. The hours to the office are from 8 to 4 so I never saw it open. There are three bathrooms by the office with toilets and showers. They are really dirty and damp. Last time in the area I stayed at Cherokee Trails. I should have stayed there again. Smaller, cleaner and peaceful. This place seems to have a lot of long term/permanent residents. If you are looking for that maybe this is what you want. Lots of gravel, concrete and no trees.

This is not an RV Resort, it is an RV Park. The amenities are extremely over exaggerated. There is a dock, it is rented out mostly to locals so getting a slip is a crap shoot. There appears to be a lot of permanent residents and they were being made to move while we were there. I found 6 showers, 1 cabin (another in an overflow lot not accessible), the store is a sparsely stocked gift shop, the only fishing access I saw was from the dock or under a bridge, the playground has been removed due to needing to relocate the well, etc. I stopped looking for discrepancies by day 2. This is not a campground for a vacation. It's worth a night or 2 and then move on.

Me and my family moved here around four months ago and this place has been nothing short of perfect! the prices are reasonable for the location and what is offered, there are snacks and little toys kids can buy in the office and in the warmer months the doc is a great place for kids to mess around with the bluegill. The staff is AMAZING and quite frankly the nicest i've seen in this area, the bathrooms are spacious and have nice water pressure, the neighbors are SUPER FRIENDLY!! and the local kids are super nice! my dad dropped his ID and these two nice boys returned it! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars

First of all I'm a Full Time RV'er (my rv is my home). This is my favorite private park I've stayed in for many reasons. Large entry ways into each site! I'm a 43' 5th wheel with a 20' F350 and was able back in with one go at it without needing wife to guide much. I didn't feel like I was shoe horning my truck into the site with the trailer there. Its normal to feel like this every where else. Gravel covered sites- Never any issues in high rains. Water dissipates and stays outside instead of in your rig! Power powers near back of rig. I have a power connection nearness on my rig. Awesome Water pressure! Be sure to bring your regulator. Many friendly campers here! Every one I have met is great including the staff. They care about their sites and it shows. This is a good thing. Also there is enough grass for your doggie to do his business and be happy. Events. Tonight we are playing music Bingo. He'll of a lot of fun! Wife won a shirt. Across the street every Saturday and Sunday is a very large flea market. WIFI is both 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz and good quality. Allows good streaming. With my Pepwave Maxtransit I was able to use both at once. They fill and sell propane on-site. Last winter they even took the tank and brought if back to my site. Was charged about the same as Tractor Supply. Pool for kiddies (yes for kids at heart too!)

This campground could be really nice, big lots but it's mostly gravel with a little strip mound of grass for your "yard" can't even set a picnic table on it level, the site should be more grass and less gravel. Speaking of picnic tables, it says each site has one and a fire ring, ours had neither so I called and asked for a picnic table since we were going to be there a week, said sure have one down this afternoon, when we left a week later still no picnic table or fire ring. And if they are going to let people live there, which I have no problem with, they need some rules on site appearance, it's starting to look like a trashy trailer park.
