I really wish I could give Larimore Dam a better review because the natural setting itself is beautiful and has great potential for a peaceful day outdoors. Unfortunately, nearly every time I’ve visited, the overall environment has been far from enjoyable. More often than not, there are people blasting loud, explicit music on the beach, using constant profanity, and generally creating a disrespectful atmosphere that makes it feel unwelcoming — especially for families with young children. On a recent visit, I witnessed a group of teenagers harassing and even trying to start a physical altercation with a group of kids who couldn't have been older than 8 to 10. It was alarming, and no staff or park presence seemed to be available to address it. It’s really disappointing because this should be a place for families, fishing, relaxing, and enjoying nature — but instead, it feels like a free-for-all with no enforcement of rules or expectations for respectful behavior. I hope the people responsible for maintaining Larimore Dam take steps to make it safer and more family-friendly. This could be such a great spot with the right oversight.

Had a blast camping. Bathrooms are clean. The swimming area and fishing docks are nice. Super relaxing time. I recommend.

Clean quiet park tucked away from the hustle and bustel of grandforks. Just a few minutes south west of turtle lake state park. Only beach in the area unless you make the trip to devils lakes. Couple spots for fishing. Recommended for a quick dip on a hot day. Don't for get 7bucks for the day pass.

Cost a little bit for a bundle of firewood but other than that we are still having a wonderful time. Kids have been out and about, they found other kids to play with. It's quiet at night. The slots are pull thru. There is a water hookup and a water disposal on each site and a black water dump nearby. There are communal showers, they are roomy and the water pressure is good. Kids are enjoying the lake and we have taken the dog and cat on many walks. I hope we can come back later in the summer
