My husband and I work out of town and live in our camper when we travel because we are gone for months and up to a year at a time. That being said we were grateful to be able to find a place 30 minutes from our work location. However, holy cow, did we ever pay for that convenience. The term “Resort” is used loosely here. I guess I always thought there was standard for using terms like that, but anyway let’s get into it, shall we? First off, the water, it is so bad that we will have to saturate our holding tanks in iron out and do many flushes before we’ll ever crack the surface on fixing our waterlines/holding tanks . We bought a water softener to help to elevate the damage but even an RV water softener was not enough. The ice maker in the refrigerator will have to be flushed if that’s even possible. My husband has a CPAP machine that requires distilled water. So we distilled our own water for this purpose, the tank after distilling this water was awful, which is basically saying that is what our waterlines and holding tanks look like as well. While we were there we also had to have our washing machine serviced because of the damage built up iron can do. So, during our stay, the water alone is going to cost us untold amounts of money and time to repair, not counting the 300.00 blanket I washed after first arriving and not knowing the condition on the water. (After getting back home I was able to have the blanket properly cleaned but it took several tries to finally get all the iron out without destroying the blanket if you are questioning the cost of the blanket it is a solid white Lola blanket look it up, they are that much.) Our camper is about a 75K camper so we are not thrilled with the time and money it is going to take to get everything back to where it was. Also, they pay people to mow the grass, and they damaged our camper because they got too close and the roll bar clipped the 5th wheel section of the camper. The also broke the picnic table, which I reported, they never came to get it and we just had to look at the eye sore and the grass grew up around it, right in front of the camper. My daughter tore her front bumper off in a pot hole that was too deep and she dragged it off going through it, (why not drive around?) because they are everywhere and you can’t drive around without going through 10 more. Also about 2 times a month somewhere close by and always on the weekend (Saturday) someone is throwing the loudest Mexican shin dig you’ve ever heard ( imagine, like 200 drunk Mexicans at some sort of outdoor concert). So a relaxing weekend away, is not possible if you happen to choose to stay here during one of these nearby events. The only reason they get a whopping 2 stars is the location, and the sites are roomy, not bunched up like most campgrounds. Also, the other reviews are correct about the speed limit, it’s really a joke, but if you clock their speed on their little golf cart it is always @ least 8mph but don’t let them catch you doing that. You have to do more than that just to get your vehicle to climb out of the potholes. (And had I ever been approached about it I would’ve told them so) It’s stupid. Less than a SCHOOL ZONE!!!! 🙄 . But realistically you can’t go much faster anyway if you want to keep your teeth. So maybe it’s more about not getting sued for vehicle damage and dentist visits than it is safety. Note: We would’ve just went to another campground, but there were no other long term sites available for the time we needed and within reasonable distance to our job site. So we had to stick it out. Photos for proof. The water distiller is a picture after distilling only 1 gallon of their water, and a picture of what it looks like after I cleaned it. The camper damage is from the lawn service people and the broken picnic table and grown up grass and lastly my jeep in a pothole that I had to drive through daily. ( I had to wash my jeep about 3 times a week)

We stayed there the last three weeks and it was a quiet park . We had some issues with the first site not being level so the motorhome jacks wouldn’t work right and the slide struggled. I went up and talked to the lady in the office and at first she said nothing else was available . They have a no refund policy of cash or check and if we left we would lose all our money we had paid for two weeks . After I told her they can not charge us for something they can’t provide they shuffled things around and moved us to a level concrete spot. She was really nice . The water isn’t very good. Kind of a brown color . They had dumpsters for the garbage so no issues with trash. The one thing I didn’t like was the fact that they charge $6.00 per guest per day . We were visiting family that we had not seen in years and a few wanted to come sit outside with us and see the rv life but there was no way in hell I would ever pay $6,00 per person for a few hours visit. I’ve never in all our full time travelers hear of that . If someone stayed the night then yes we expect to pay for them but not for a three hour visit. Over all it’s a very quiet park , beautiful spots. Some residents are full timers there and some of their spots need to be cleaned up . Not sure why they only take cash or check unless it’s to not have to refund money if things are not what is expected . Again the water isn’t very good so I recommend using bottled water for drinking etc

The stay here was amazingly accommodating. The women that run the office are helpful and very friendly. Robin went out of her way to help my family enjoy everything this place had to offer. From fishing and swimming to the amazing clean restrooms and showers. This is a destination i will be returning to. If your looking for a quiet get away near Chicago this is it. Close enough to anything u need and remote enough to feel the relaxing escape from the cities. The owner here has put great pride in making this place for families and you won't be all cramped in together either. The room per camper is huge. Save lehmans rv resort as a destination for anytime of year. Thank you Robin Tammy Karen and Jerome for helping my family enjoy this place to its fullest.

We stayed here over the 4th of July weekend and had a really great experience. Our site was a pull-through with full hookups (30/50 amp), and it was nice and spacious. The firepit was cleaned out before we got there, and everything around the site was well maintained. The campground itself was clean and quiet, with a good mix of families and campers. On Saturday, they went all out for the holiday weekend — there was a big inflatable water slide and splash pad for the kids (which they loved, especially with how hot it was). They also had a food truck and Kona Ice on site, which made lunch and dessert super easy. A DJ played music throughout the day, and they ended the night with fireworks. It was such a fun atmosphere, especially for families. I know I saw some negative comments online about the staff, but honestly, everyone we interacted with was super friendly and helpful. We had no issues at all. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely come back. It’s a solid place to stay — clean sites and a relaxed, family-friendly vibe.

First of all, in my opinion, this place is a DUMP. It should not be allowed to have the word “resort” in its name. One must assume that the 5 star ratings are staff, family, friends, and the transients that live there full-time. Our experience in our very short, and very expensive stay, literally the most expensive place in all our almost 20 years of traveling for work in an RV. $1680/mo - for an absolutely awful lot, and ignorant staff. The roads are filled with pot holes that you could lose half a car in, and there’s the nut in the mini cooper who “patrols” the park with his dog, and screams at people. He circled our camper staring us down, at least 6 times while we were setting up. The water smells like a rotten egg fart, and everything is left with a rusty stain. Our water filters were completely clogged after 1 week. Initially, we were told that we would get an $800 plus electric monthly spot, and that changed to $420/week. We also had to pay the full weekly rent to hold our spot until we arrived. We were told by a “resident” that we were indeed in the monthly lots, even though the office employee told us there were none available. You can only pay cash or check, the IRS should definitely audit this “establishment.” The final straw was my husband’s truck being vandalized and the center caps being stolen off my car. It cost me $54 per wheel to replace them. When we went to the office to let them know we were leaving, the two “ladies” could have cared less, so I asked them if they’d like to know why. “Sure” one said…. They said nothing like that has ever happened there before. I find that incredibly hard to believe that it was a one time event. I am including CURRENT photos of the park known as Lehmans Lakeside Resort. You can come to your own conclusions as to the validity of the 5 star ratings after viewing them. (Especially the one where the reviewer says the water is crystal clear) My personal opinion is that they were the only park open and felt they could take advantage of remote workers who had no other options. Heed my warning, if this is your only option to stay in an rv, pay for a hotel room.

This place only take cash or checks. It is not a resort as the name implies. There is not a single trash can on the premises and for $60.00 you get water and electricity that's it. I did not see any lake there is a pond of sorts. The showers are ok but lacks any hooks or anyplace to hang anything. It appears that they had hooks but in the repair process they didn't reinstall any. One stall had 1 hook and in that stall someone hung a small rack to place your soap and shampoo. The water pressure was good and hot water was good. The wifi they claim had bad signal strength and would not allow my laptop or TV to stream. It appears that most people here are permanently set up The place has potential but is not properly maintained or staffed. The management is more concerned with the 5 mph rule then anything here. I was scolded for my approximate 7 to 8 mph speed I will not be back The office has coolers but they are completely empty. The store shelves are mostly empty. Unless you need a hand made refrigerator magnet you are out of luck

Oh.. I don’t even know where to begin on this one.. I read the reviews and found that the office woman, Robin, could flip her switch in an instant. We gave her the benefit of the doubt and was nice and accepting to all the workers there. Had no issues until my husband was asked to help move another campers rv because their truck was in the shop. Mind you my husband just worked and the other camper got all this approved by the staff. Robin decided to play with fire that day. It was 7 pm to about 9pm that evening and it was a total disaster. As my husband pulled said camper to the new spot, Robin drove through camp sites and stopped in front of my husband causing him to slam on his breaks, she gets out and starts going off on him, to which he politely told her to lower her voice and take a breath. She then proceeds to stand directly in the path of travel as he is trying to pull into the site, after hearing her yell for about 20 min so the whole camp ground could hear. My husband finally told her to stand back and shut up. Being quite a few sites away from her I could hear her screaming. When confronted the next day I asked if I could get the Owners contact information and was told “ you will never get that”. Im sure to protect herself. A few days go by and my husband and I go in again and he apologized if he upset her in any way. She looked at him and didn’t say a single word. No apology no acknowledgment towards him at all. Finally she left us alone for a few weeks. We were out of the camper and received a voicemail stating that a delivery driver dropped something off at our camper and if we don’t get him to stop speeding we will no longer be able to receive packages and if the delivery driver continues we will be kicked out of the park. We didn’t order anything. When we got home the pack wasn’t ours so we went up to the office and gave it to Robin. Stating that it wasn’t our fault and that we would like to make sure this doesn’t go against us. She said “ doesn’t matter if it was yours or not it is your problem and if it continues then they will proceed with what the voicemail stated.” When I brought up that the UPS or fedex driver always speeds she said “no they don’t. They know the rules”. We left and didn’t continue the conversation. The water there will ruin your pipes and stain your showers and toilets. We don’t know where they get it from but I will be calling the city to see if they can get an inspection. The police have been in and out of the rv park like crazy. One day the SWAT team was there with ARs walking around. When confronted, Robin point blank lied and said “ they weren’t here” when I pulled up the report and article she then said “ that wasn’t anything big” The cops had ARs and walking around the rv park! Police and ambulances came multiple times in the middle of the night. Roads are an absolute disaster. Potholes everywhere. Told not to drive on the grass but can’t drive on the road without damaging your vehicle. The only person there that we like is the maintenance man. He was the sweetest and even checked on my daughter after a choking incident.

Lehman’s RV Park – 2 Stars Lehman’s RV Park has potential, but it needs serious improvements before it could be considered an actual “RV Resort.” 1. Water Quality The water here is rough—high in metals, yellow-tinted, and carries a strong odor. Definitely not something you want to drink or shower in without a heavy-duty filtration system. If you’re planning a stay, make sure you bring a quality water filter. 2. The Mini Cooper Speed Patrol There’s a woman in a small blue Mini Cooper who seems to have unofficially taken on the role of speed enforcer. I was doing about 8 mph (pretty reasonable), and halfway down the drive, she stuck her hand out the window, signaling me to stop and “keep it under 5.” The kicker? Later that night, her husband blew past my RV doing at least 10–15 mph. Classic. 3. Razor Rocket Man There’s also a guy on a black Razor scooter (looks like staff) who absolutely tears through the park. If the speed limit is really 5 mph, he’s breaking it by a factor of six. Honestly surprised he hasn’t launched into orbit yet. 4. Propane Woes Tried to get my RV’s propane tank filled around 3 PM on a Friday—no one was around. Called the office and was told no one would be available until Monday. Ended up having to disconnect and drive to the nearby Love’s. Not exactly convenient when you’re running low. 5. Laundry Facilities If you value your clothes, steer clear of the laundry room. Between the bad water and the worn-out machines, your wardrobe doesn’t stand a chance. 6. Roads are absolutely horrendous. It’s a pothole maze that makes driving an event trying to weave back and forth to miss them.

In all transparency, I asked if I could change my monthly due date because of where my paychecks fall and they refused. I have stayed here all summer and winter and have continuously paid between 4 and 14 days late with all late fees. I paid for a 2 (100 lb) gas tank set up, where they didn't hook it up right and the gas leaked out twice. I thought it was on my end, but it wasn't, and wasn't reimbursed when I finally noticed the smell when the direction of the wind changed. Sometimes they say I owe one thing and write me a bill and sign it and then call later saying I have a higher bill and they made a mistake. I paid up every time. The showers they only clean supposedly once a week during the winter because they are less busy per management. Dirt rings in the toilets, mold under floor shower mats, and hair hanging from a bolt for over a month in the shower. I had my sewage drain pipe slashed in the summer, people walk through my site and their tracks in the snow led to their trailer and management said they couldn't do anything, someone left a peed on snowball on my picnic table, and management said they couldn't do anything. Now, like almost always, I can't pay rent because I opened a new, local checking account and put a transfer of money to pay. I showed them the amount transferred and it was supposed to be available in 3 days, but it now is available per the bank in 7 days. The campground owner (Robin) said they don't care. Not to mention they were very prejudice against Latino campers and charge visitors (even if it is only for a partial day to say hi to me). Oh, yes....water smells and their small lake/pond is full of algae in the summer. I put up with it because I need to sell my house first, but took employment near their campground. I am not totally in the right, but with what I put up with, it is insane. Not to mention I only sleep there at night and go home on the weekends. One more thing, police were at the campground one month about twice a week. Someone naked, a trailer fire, and domestic disputes.

Live here full time couple of months. I really enjoyed it. Few lakes to fish, big playground for the kids, a lake to swim ( more on natural side) but I enjoyed it as well. Good people living in. Nothing wrong. I seen in few reviews about bad road , bumpy. True. But nothing to complain when the speed limit in the campground is 5 MPH. And you better drive slow because of the kids. The office was courteous if I ever had a question. I strongly recommend this place. FYI about 45-50 min away from O’hare. For some people this information might help

We only stayed one night, arriving late and leaving early. The roads are very bumpy and hard to drive a motor home on. The pull through water and electric only spaces are basically mud. The lady who took my reservation was very friendly. I think they might cater more to the long term campers, as they are the only ones with access to the lake. One of the staircases on the playground was broken. It was harmless for a one night stay but you might want to look elsewhere for a vacation stay.

Very nice place with trails throughout. There is noise from I 90 but it wasn't noticeable from our site. There are cows located on site but I think they might be part of another farmer's property. LOL. Nice staff also.
