We hiked the trails in early November and it was beautiful. The paths are well maintained and easy to follow. The fire tower offers beautiful panoramic views and is worth the climb. The lake happened to be drained when we went but it was still well worth the visit!

We hiked Trail 1, including up to the firetower which some of us climbed, and Trail 3. We met a harmless black snake, saw a tiny salamander, and observed many butterflies. We also walked into a lot of spiderweb on Trail 3, so go show that trail some love...it obviously hasn't had enough visitors lately. lol There were some challenging up-hill moments, but we had a preschooler on-foot and a huge toddler on my back. It was a great day for a hike and the park was well-maintained.

We booked sites 131 & 133, it shred trees with 2 other sites. We had a robin nest at 131. I recommend downloading the map prior as service was spotty but great at the fire tower. The restrooms were cleaned daily and showers had the right pressure and warmth.

We spent three nights here camping and exploring. The campground was well kept and the restroom/shower facilities were clean and more than adequate. Mid week was not too crowded but by the weekend most sites were occupied. Rangers patrolled quite often and were always helpful. The lake was beautiful with numerous places to sit and enjoy or to fish if desired. We were disappointed that they did not have the boat rentals available during our stay for some reason. There are several nice hiking trails to enjoy as well. The park has a nice beach area and a camp store. The Lincoln Bicentennial Plaza was very impressive as was the Lincoln Boyhood Home National Memorial that is located just across the road from the entrance to the state park. Camping costs were moderate and we felt it was a good value for the stay.

First of all I want to address some of these "complaints" in these reviews. Are showers "hotel" clean? Uh no it's camping and glamping, if demanding that perhaps don't camp, turn in your tents, or don't rent the cabins. On subject of showers, yes the floors in the preshower area can get wet might suggest putting on something to wear into that area don't mind getting a little wet. The water was not turned off to camping areas because some "budget cuts" maybe when you visited it was off for maintenance issues? Park was relatively clean considering it was memorial day weekend and a graduation going on Saturday. We did witness visitors breaking rules like mopeds on hiking trails, trying to sneak to non boat ramp areas to launch theirs but unsuccessfully lol. Cabins in family areas are to be cleaned before you leave some in our group mentioned theirs weren't cleaned well by last group, however the one my wife and I was in was in good shape. Only complaint I really had was the bathroom facilities were to be cleaned by our group yet they were accessible to people on the trails? Anyway it was a fun visit, I will admit some of the facilities looked like needed some basic maintenance but nothing terrible.

Spent July 4th there with my wife and my sister’s family. Despite torrential rain at times we had a great time. Came from Alabama and we are going back this year. Great value and perfect for family gatherings.

I didn’t get the chance to explore and see all this park had to offer as I arrived in the dark & was only stopping for the night. However the park was challenging to navigate to without guidance. It’s too bad state parks don’t have better check in hours. I arrived at 530. The sure was spacious though and well identified by numbers on the electric box that were reflective. I didn’t like how my site had sticks and literal tree branches jammed into the cement. Challenging to lower the jacks and do a walk around. They could do better at cleaning sites. Each space has picnic table and fire pit. Electric box. The shower rooms and washrooms were fairly clean but the shower curtain didn’t do much to protect the pre shower area and it got my shoes and belongings wet. It was not warmed bathhouse. The shower is the button type they only lasts maybe 20-30 seconds before you need to keep pressing it. Water temp was good though. For some reason they close them down between 8-9 a to clean. I can’t imagine a more inconvenient time. Bring shower sandals for sure. Had a beautiful morning view though. Park host came around after I was settled to give me my pass.

Loved the park; visited on a hot July day in 2024 and got relief from the heat by dipping into the nature center and the campground store. The beach was clean and inviting, as was the hiking trails. Great place for great memories.

We stayed at Lincoln State Park for five nights. This was during the solar eclipse. The park was in the line of totality for the eclipse. The staff were amazing! The facilities were clean and well maintained. The park is big and well laid out. There is a huge amphitheater at the state park where they have entertainment starting in May each year. This amphitheater is amazing and fairly new. There is lots of history regarding Abraham Lincoln and his family within the park. There is so much to do at the park, and a bonus across the road is the Abraham Lincoln Memorial National Park. We will definitely be visiting Lincoln State Park again.

Really nice park. Campgrounds were nice some a bit close but ones near lake gives a beautiful view. Enjoyed our stay but a week was not long enough.Beach is really good size with a large bathhouse & store. It's very close to Santa Claus Town. Planning on staying again next year.
