A beautiful campground right beside the river! Sue helped us find the perfect site for us and the people and staff are very friendly. The local water, (we had full hookup) tasted just like back home and the sites are shaded.

I rolled in here late at night after they were closed, the amazing campground host opened the gate for me and helped me find a spot, and even backed my trailer in for me as I am new to towing !!( the red deer hospital had suggested I stay here) as I had to leave my hubby at the hospital after an emergency. Such kind caring and compassionate people. Nice facility and close location. Thanks so much Barry for you help!!

I can't thank Barry enough for how much they did for me at a VERY difficult time. My rental sold and I didn't find a new home so my family lent me a rv and I came to stay at lion's campground and it was the best decision I ever made. Matt, Barry they helped me feel safe and comfortable cause they were always checking in and making sure I was okay. Being a single mom and alone it was new to me and I was nervous but they relieved all that stress. I'm tearing up writing this cause I'm so thankful. The ladies they were always a bright smile and a wave,or even a chat if I was having a tough day. I stayed there for 3 month's and I have to say it was so calm and relaxed cause they took me under their wing and made lion's campground my home. Sue you beautiful soul I am so thankful for your smile and kindness. I was so scared in the beginning you talked me through my fear and showed me it's going to be okay. I was born and raised in red deer,I never knew that there was a slice of peace and tranquility right in our city. I will definitely stay again and tell everyone how amazing lion's campground is managed and taken care of. Thank you from the bottom of my heart

Well the man (if you can call him that) not only made us feel. Incredibly uncomfortable by continually driving by to all hours of the night actually keeping me awake. He went on to ask me sexual questions about my partner and I (how often we engaged in sexual relations) and no this isn’t because we were demonstrating intimacy for all to hear it’s because he said I was way too good for my partner and he couldn’t “imagine us engaging”and then he had the audacity to grab me physically so hard by my arms I have bruises and henshook me called me multiple offensive names and then I had to leave because he calls the cops after violating me.

Our family booked during first week of opening 2025 season to ensure our spots were together. 2 of four sites were side by side. And thankfully one of the sites had a firepit. We were impressed with how quiet the campground was in the evening (minus road traffic). Staff drove around site at least twice each night. We had a fairly large group around fire but kept our conversation low as did other people around us. We appreciated the gates and security going in and out of campground. The location is so central. We would definitely go back.
