Beautiful setting with really well developed and maintained campsites. Sites are well spaced for privacy and include a ramada, table, fire pit and bbq. The toilets are clean and well maintained. We saw Desert Bighorn Sheep and lots of black bear sign near the campground. Be aware that there is no water available anywhere in the national monument.

Hate to rate this place high as I don't want it to become popular. But, man.. Great campground! Clean.. Amazing views.. Sites are well spaced... Basically, don't come here.. Please.. Lol

Just wrapped up a two night stay at campground #15 and had an amazing time. Extremely quiet campground, gorgeous views, great stargazing, clean bathroom, and great amenities (a picnic shelter, grill, and fire pit) at our site. A little under an hour away from Taos but the drive isn’t too bad.

Great sites, beautiful views. Access to lots of good trails for all abilities. Fire pits, covered picnic tables, clean restrooms. Windy and chilly this early spring, with a mix of snow and bright sun over a few days. No water at any of the campgrounds at this time due to cracked well pipe that's expensive to repair.

Wow! Just wow. This remote, rustic campground was a completely new experience for this Midwestern girl. When we went in June 2022, the sites were first-come-first-serve. I would caution folks who are from a lower altitude to be aware when hiking so that you do not feel faint, but the view was amazing! The bathroom was clean, but a porta-potty, so you will want a flashlight. We were on a tight schedule, but I wish I could have spent more time there.
