We had a great time. Kids had a great time. I rented a Skyline trailer. The unit was decent but I was disappointed with some things I think could easily be taken care of. The AC units had mold in them. The furniture is basic. Recliner in my unit was damaged and had dog hair underneath. The bathroom was very poorly cleaned. They dont leave any cleaning products whatsoever. For 4 nights it cost me a little over $1000 with taxes ect. I would expect much more for that price. You have to bring literally everything you would need, pots, pans, silverware, bedding, anything and everything. There is a toaster and coffee maker. We really enjoyed our stay but was not impressed with the upkeep at all. Friendly staff and everyone on the grounds were very friendly. Its a beautiful camp I hope they can figure out how to maintain the rental units better.

We stayed here from Friday, August 8th through Monday, August 11th (with a 2 pm checkout). Positives: • Staff was friendly and helpful. • Pool was clean and never overcrowded. Negatives: • Tent sites are located in the far back wooded area, which is fine in itself — but with what seemed like 50+ tent sites, there’s only one nearby bathhouse with 3 toilet stalls and 2 shower stalls. That’s nowhere near enough. We sometimes waited an hour just to shower, which is extremely difficult with young kids. The shower stalls are very small, making it hard to wash children, and while it’s 25¢ for 8 minutes of hot water, ours wasn’t actually hot. • Only a couple of porta-potties are available in the tent area, but they were full, smelled terrible, and the one nearest to us wouldn’t even latch shut. • The biggest issue: bears. Nowhere on the website, during booking, or on-site signage did it mention that bears regularly roam the campground. This wasn’t a rare “once-in-a-while” sighting — they came through multiple times a day and night, right onto our site. On our last night, around 3:30 am, a bear brushed against my tent while my 6-year-old and I were inside. It then tried to get into our gazebo area (where there was no food — only a cooler with ice and water). This was terrifying, and made it impossible to relax or let the kids play freely. • Staff members admitted they’re aware of the bear problem, and we saw them chasing bears away with golf carts, yet it’s not disclosed to guests in advance. Because of the bear incident Sunday night into Monday morning, we ended up packing up first thing Monday instead of staying until the 2 pm checkout. We essentially lost the last day we paid for and spent the whole weekend on edge, unable to fully relax or let the kids enjoy themselves. Camping in the woods comes with wildlife, and we understand that — but frequent, bold bear encounters without warning or proper prevention measures are unacceptable, especially for families with children. Sadly, while the staff and pool were nice, the bathroom situation and constant bear presence made our stay stressful instead of relaxing, and we won’t be returning.

What a fun time I had with my family at Lone Oaks! I stayed in the Birches cabin with my two friends while my daughters and their families tent camped next to me in the two spots directly next to us. There was so much for us and the grandkids to do ! We loved the playground, the dodge ball games, sharks and minnows, the pool party (two of the grandkids won a prize!) the hayride and the camp store! It was fun to get a golf cart and drive around and see all the ways campers decorate their sites. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. The staff is friendly and helpful. The camp store carries ice $3 and firewood $8 .. The Birches cabin itself was just the right size.. a full bed and two sets of bunks. You’ll need to bring your own bedding, but we just each brought a sleeping bag and a pillow. There were plenty of plugs for charging phones etc. we brought an air fryer and a crock pot and an extra fan. There is a small fridge and a coffee pot, a toaster and a microwave. Stop and Shop is just three miles up the road, with a Family Dollar next to it.. there’s a McDonald’s not far past that.. and a cute diner called Collins. We discovered a BIG vintage/thrift store a little past that called FLEA AT 99 .. and down the road a yummy smoothie place called HOMEGROWN! The chai cinnamon protein smoothie is delicious! They are both on Railroad Street. I truly had so much fun with my friends and family ! Seeing the grandkids laughing and playing and enjoying just being outside making memories was the best part ! We can’t wait to come back and do it again!

Had an amazing week camping with my family, everyone is so kind here! We tented and the tent loop is pretty and well laid out and tucked far away from the camper generator noise/lights etc. The group events are held pretty often daily and low pressure to hop in and out of. Having the on site convenience store with basic food items hot and cold were great in a pinch! Rent a golf cart, worth the cost, exploring in it with my 7 and 10 year old daughters was a highlight! Riding bikes around was great too, lots to see! The creek, pool and hot tub were clean and inviting. The playground and pond were nice hangs as well. I’ll be back

STEWART LODGE R10 WAS DISGUSTING! DO NOT RECOMMEND, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN. We rented this unit for 2 nights in June. We had several issues that made our short visit very disappointing. AC wasn't working when we arrived and that was just the beginning. For $296 per night this was the dirtiest cabin I have ever seen. Mouse poop under the kitchen and bathroom sinks and in every cabinet in the kitchen. Mouse poop on windowsills and on the floors. FECES on the toilet! Moldy mattresses....filthy countertops, air vents clogged with dust overall nastiness everywhere. When two employees showed up at the cabin regarding the AC not working we told them about the other issues and they didn't seem to care. One worker quickly used the only dust pan and broom to brush the mouse droppings out from under the kitchen sink, more got on the floor than in the dust pan! It was kind of shocking how the condition of the unit didn't seem like an issue to them. Onto the next issue, no hot water which we didn't realize until late in the evening and then in the morning after contacting maintenance they realized the propane tank was never filled. A guy did arrive within an hour to get the hot water working. I went to the main office to discuss the many issues we had during our stay. I was told I would receive a call back from I believe his name was Frank, he never called. I reached out to the office again several hours later and was told via text that I would get 50% refund. I was disappointed that I couldn't even get the courtesy of a phone call. My credit card was credited $225 plus $71 credit to be used towards another stay LOL. I don't think i'll be using that credit unless I stay in a tent. Other than the unit itself, we did enjoy the pool and playground area with our toddler. Reflecting back on the situation we should have just left upon arrival because of the very obvious health risks within that unit.

Lone oak campsites reminded me of the movie Dirty Dancing. The campsite offers RV, tent sites, and cabin rentals. Once the sun comes out there are planned activities for all ages throughout the campsite. Two pools, a hot tub and a lake offers plenty of space for outdoor swimming. The weekend we attended was Hawaii theme. They even offer golf cart rental to use as a means of transportation while camping. The staff at the campsite were very nice and accommodating. If you want to take a shower for just .25 cent you can take a shower for 8 mins which doesn’t seem like enough time but it was plenty of time. If you forget something you need for camping there is a store on grounds that offers almost everything you need for a great price. I absolutely loved going and plan on booking next summer.

Just drove to check it out. Office help was more than willing to offer a pass to check out this nice campground. Grassy and wooded sites both were clean and we looked on a sunday afternoon. Will be going here

Upscale RV resort with lots of great amenities and activities. We realized our camp site was right next to the main section, so it was noisy and not too private However, just over the hills in either direction from the main buildings the camp became peaceful. The pool was super busy with lots of kids on the 2 weekend days. Since they have 2 pools they may want to consider a pool for kids and a pool for adults. The camp store has all the essentials and the staff was courteous all around. They are a busy campground, so plan ahead to reserve your site.

We stayed here for 8 days on site 20. Our site was very level and a decent size. We had trees behind us and plenty of space between us and the site next to us. The only draw back on this site was we had a path/walkway next to us that had alot of foot traffic. We do not camp with kids, but this place has alot of activities for kids and I would recommend it if you are looking for family friendly. Staff was friendly, decent store and some nice hiking trails. What we didn't like, and this was because of the people staying there, was there are tons of barking dogs. We have three, we do not allow them to bark. I don't understand how someone doesn't hear there dog barking for hours. Alot of loose dogs and one person had their dog locked in their truck all day for three days and it barked non stop. People just walked across our sites, right between fire pit and picnic table. This was constant. This was at no fault to the campground, it is simple camper etiquette. Campground is close to store if you need to shop. Reason we gave it 3 stars was sadly the dogs barking and rude transient campers. I would recommend bringing bikes or golf cart, as it's a very large campground.

You can not get much better scenery for a campground. It is very clean and very well kept. Seasonals definitely like to have a good time, but they were awesome and very welcoming. Sites were huge (we stayed on 615 and 616...highly recommend them). Even though we don't take advantage of the activities usually (we like to relax and have a cocktail) there seemed like there was always something family orientated going on. The only 2 things that made it not a 5 star for me was. 1) The young girl in the office at check in was not very friendly. She was not rude either, but she just didn't make you feel welcome like most other campgrounds. 2) For as huge as the place is they should have more than 5 rental golf carts. It really is the only way to get around. At night you don't want to drive your truck around because there are just to many people.

I went today and enjoyed everything was there. Pool was great and clean jacuzzi was amazing almost fell asleep. The camp site a bit small but still great. Electricity and water at camp site. Bathroom clean and smell good. The pond was the downer should be a bit nicer. I also enjoy sitting at the little river. Please pick up after your self stop leaving bottle at the river stream. Staff were friend and helpful. I also has ice cream and milk shake very good and price very convenient. Also had a little incident a lady was a little racist againt us being latino but what ever it will alway happen remember everyone is equal come on people but we know we better then that . The store had everything you need also sell wood awesome. Security alway driving around and seeing if everything is good. Everything is a couple of min apart love it. The playground was really good for kides so far this is the best camp site in Connecticut recommend it to everyone. They do activity at the pool check it out. The showers are 25 cent for 8 min not bad at all. If ypu friend or family rent the site it is 12 dollar per person that goes. I think after 3 there no one there to charge. The Reviewer 85
