Long Beach Conservation Area

Overview

Long Beach Conservation Area serves as a premier destination for those seeking a quintessential Lake Erie camping experience. Managed by the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority, this park is celebrated for its vibrant sandy shoreline and natural beauty. It offers a blend of 225 campsites that accommodate both transient travelers and long-term seasonal visitors looking for a summer home away from home.

Location & Surroundings

Tucked away in the quiet township of Wainfleet, Ontario, the park is defined by its proximity to the water. The surrounding landscape consists of mature deciduous forests and rolling dunes that provide a scenic buffer from the outside world. The shallow waters of Lake Erie at this location stay warm throughout the summer, making the vast shoreline the central focus of the entire park layout.

Amenities & Park Features

RVers will find a variety of site types, including many sites equipped with 30-amp electrical service. The park is well-maintained with multiple comfort stations featuring flush toilets and hot showers for guest convenience. Families often gather at the large communal playground, while those with canoes or kayaks can utilize the easy-access boat launch to explore the coastline and enjoy the region's excellent fishing opportunities.

Nearby Attractions & Things to Do

While the beach is the primary draw, the local area offers plenty of exploration for curious travelers. Nearby Port Colborne is home to the historic Welland Canal, where visitors can observe the impressive engineering of the Great Lakes shipping route. Nature lovers can also visit the nearby Wainfleet Bog or take a scenic drive to Niagara wine country to sample local vintages and gourmet farm-to-table dining.

Who This Park Is Best For

This park is a fantastic match for family-oriented RVers who enjoy a communal, active atmosphere by the water. It is best suited for travelers who prefer a natural conservation setting over a high-end commercial resort. If you value stunning sunsets over Lake Erie and a relaxed, barefoot lifestyle, this park provides the perfect backdrop for your next Southern Ontario road trip.

I've been on some fabulous beaches in my time so this one is nothing special but it provides a local space to have a beach experience. There are no amenities just basic sand and water, all as an enclosure to separate the privately owned parts of the strip and parking is small where any overflow will cost you $25 or a ticket. The parking lot also closes at something like 6 pm so don't come late if you want to linger. The 3 port-a-potties are as port-a-potties be, but at least they are there if you're in need of the facilities.

We would like to take a moment to amplify the beauty of our stay and this incredible campground! From the amazing staff that supported us with our car issue, to the magnificent landscapes, and the beautiful beach with clear water. A definitely worth drive from Montreal and we recommend x1000. Thank you so much for everything and everyone!

We loved our experience tent camping at Long Beach Conservation. Staff are incredibly friendly, and accommodating and activities are offered on the weekends. Spot 404 was perfect for us, just steps from the beach below with phenomenal views. There are covered pavilions, a new playground with tether ball, basketball & volleyball. Bathroom was clean. My kids loved playing with the rocks on the shoreline and the shallow water. We also made the very short and enjoyable canoe ride over to the neighbouring free public sandy beach but if you prefer to drive, it is a literally a few minutes away and offers free parking.

Nice beach with easy access, good activities for kids and families, beautiful area and hiking nearby. Facilities are decent, but could probably be cleaned more thoroughly. Staff and campers are very friendly. Unfortunately the sites have no privacy, even the tent sites, and quiet hours are not enforced. Some areas of the campground smell a little funky because the trailer dumpstation is in the middle of the campground, in front of the showers.
