Long Beach RV Resort

Overview

The property features spacious RV sites alongside comfortable cabin rentals and traditional tent sites, ensuring that all types of outdoor enthusiasts feel welcome during their stay.

Location & Surroundings

Nestled within the scenic coastal woods of Ocean County, the resort is situated just minutes from the Barnegat Bay. The wooded layout of the park provides shaded campsites, which is a significant advantage during the peak of summer, offering a cooler and more private environment than many open-field coastal parks.

Don’t even know where to start so I’ll pick the pool.it was a house pool made for the family that previously owned the campgrounds. Pool is never cleaned the way it’s supposed to be. Chemical levels are never correct. I had test strips test, tested it every day and documented it all. We would end up going to the ocean. They throw in shock 10 minutes before the pool is gonna open . Our kids have gone to hospital up the road Because nobody was aware of what they were doing, and our kids got their eyes damaged and chemically burnt . Next there are covers where the filters are on pool deck that say to be screwed down. I have watched numerous people fall in over the years and get hurt once again, including our child bleeding cut up and a trip to the hospital. All could be prevented Janet’s response. They would have to unscrew the cover every day to clean out the baskets. Our response the cover clearly states it’s to be screwed in place to prevent accidents . Again, the pool was never designed for a campground so the design of it is actually quite dangerous for public use are opinion walk careful around where the pool is Because the covers look like part of where you’re walking until you step on it and it turns inward and you fall. Drugs /drinking till all hours of the night . Our last year there there was an arrest for a drug dealer who had been at the campsite for quite a while up front . Activities went downhill when Campground changed over with new management . The new employees did not have the same caring characteristics as previous employees who did everything out of the goodness of their hearts for the kids. It became more of a corporate Campground then a family Campground it had once been. We stayed three years under new management and literally had to call it quits after 20 years. it was no longer a relaxing place to be. It was a drinking/ drug fest and no longer appropriate for our children’s safety . I’m glad the older children have fond memories of being there Back when it was a fun safe campground to be in. If you like to party then this is your Campground ., Nothing new has been added to the Campground since an updated playground had been put in place. 10 years ago .

First experience here and it exceeded all expectations! It was extremely clean (both the grounds and restroom/shower areas) and so tastefully and beautifully decorated for fall. The staff is by far the friendliest and most helpful we have ever encountered at an RV resort. We will definitely be returning - Thank you Janet! Very family friendly and only about a 15 minute, easy drive to LBI.

Last year (2024) was our first camping experience! It certainly won’t be our last! We love the Sun Retreat Long Beach Island in Barnegat NJ! Janet and ALL of her staff are WONDERFUL! They all are knowledgeable, professional, and gracious with both their time and services, from advise to pump outs and special events!! The restrooms and pool are remarkably clean, EVEN during the busy weekends!! The store has great hours and always well stocked! The sites are well maintained and spacious! Adherence to posted quiet time is enforced! It’s a pleasure to come down to this location, which is only 10 miles from LBI! Can’t say enough good things about this Sun Retreat location and, especially, all the staff!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. They keep a clean and respectful campground and you can tell they have a lot of pride in it. We camped with kids age 1-10 and everyone had a great time.

Our stay here was perfect. We've stayed at a lot of campgrounds. The people here are so friendly and the customer service was among the best we've seen. The site was perfectly level and clean. No sewer hookup but they have daily vacuum truck service which was more than adequate. The grounds were clean. Plenty of things to do right on site but so close to everything the shore has to offer too. The pool and pool area were very clean. Great experience overall.
