Long Draw Campground

There were good number of dispersed campsites along the road and a few outhouses. Bring your own toilet paper. There are hiking trails including a trail to get to Rocky Mountain National Park. It is such a beautiful place with lakes along the road. The view of high mountains with timberline above those lakes are breathtakingly beautiful. You will also see the scars from wildfires. It's a well maintained road but still a dirt road. Visitors should drive with caution. It's a popular place and you can't avoid vehicles and people. Definitely bring your camera if you are interested in taking pictures of wildlife. They are wild animals. Don't attempt to pet them!

Beautiful campground, well taken care of. Some spots are kind of tight if you take a big RV.

Such a great little spot! We will definitely be returning :-) Easy going, friendly host. Moose/elk/deer all grazing nearby! BEAUTIFUL! About a 5 minute drive to Longdraw Reservoir from the campground. Road in was well maintained. Even a small car could make it in during summer months... although, if weather is bad I would definitely wait. It can get really bad really fast up there. Bring emergency gear- do not underestimate mother natures ability to take a routine weekend trip and make it a nightmare. This is true wilderness and if you choose to go, use your brain a bit... remember the 6 P's (prior planning prevents piss poor performance) 😉 There are areas all around the lake that are good for dispersed camping...just please be aware of bears and other wildlife and for God's sake PACK OUT YOUR DANG TRASH! Campground was inexpensive and nicely laid out with both tent and RV areas...but further down the road you can dispersed camp for free. HAVE FUN!!!

Great campground, good sized campsites, not even full in July 2023. Wonderful host, good clear water from the pump. We saw a mama and young moose in the meadow near our tent! Along with many many deer. Peaceful.

This is a beautifully wooded, and quit place to stay!! It is about 10100 feet in elevation, clean, and the camp hosts are fantastic and dedicated people. Restrooms are exceptionally clean, and pumped water is available. Being that high in elevation makes it a little chilly at night if one camps in a tent but this can be managed with a good sleeping bag. This area is a must see; the night sky is mind boggling; Long Draw reservoir is amazing for boating and fishing, and the surrounding valleys and mountains are 5 stars all around. This is the Moose capital of the continental United States and seeing them graze is a beautiful experience. Enjoy the stay and the beautiful area!
