My wife and I stayed at this park for two nights about two weeks ago. As seniors, it was our first time visiting, and overall, it was a decent experience. Our site was located along one side of the park entrance and was noticeably smaller compared to other camping sites we had visited. However, the grounds were clean, and the bathrooms, while well-maintained, were a bit of a walk from our site. One highlight was the water access—just a few feet from our site—which would make this an ideal spot if you have a kayak or canoe. The only downside was the reception experience. The lady at the front desk could have been friendlier. A more welcoming attitude would enhance guests' camping experience, rather than feeling like they're checking into a shelter.

I was lucky enough to drive up and sit in my car to reserve Online a campsite that was really for an RV, but I set up my tent there. It is a beautiful nature preserve island spit that overlooks the mainland. Not far from the beach and fishing, if you’re into that. The lady who checked me in was a little outspoken, but the night Ranger was very nice and I felt safe here.

Large campground, some sites are difficult to get level. Well kept, but needs some site work. Not a lot of shade, but a most of the sites are waterfront, and a easy to launch kayaks and canoes and tie up boats. We had many manatees play alongside our site. Fishing pier that people could enjoy.

We come to camp a few times a year. Many of the sites have drop in for water. Kayaking and fishing sooo easy. A few islands to check out ! We walk our dogs early in the morning and then after dinner. Everyone is so friendly and nice. They have showers, laundry and bathrooms - all really clean! One of my favorite places to camp in central Florida.

Maybe a nice park for most who come here, but site 34 is THE WORST plot on the park. They advertise waterfront camping. It’s not waterfront, and there is a bridge access 15 feet from the site. That means anyone and everyone from the campground will most definitely walk through your campsite at any time of the day or night. If you get site 34, just cancel and go somewhere else because they will not try to accommodate you at all. Plenty of open sites, yet they will tell you it’s full. Makes for a very uncomfortable stay when your wife and/or kids are playing in the site you booked, and random people continue to invade your space. Sad, being that we are avid campers and always show respect and courtesy at every campground we visit across the country. Also, would call ahead to see what issues they are having. Sewage and septic are busted and the bathrooms close by are closed, Scout island also closed- but they will still charge you full price. Recommend looking elsewhere for waterfront camping.

Wash rooms and showers need a lot of attention with better water pressure, new faucets and shower heads. Campsite 4 has been very difficult to get our RV level, and was told we had a level site. But, we love the hole in the mangrove since we are sea kayakers!

Very nice State Park with restrooms showers laundry facilities parking for almost any size vehicle reservations required. This is not a free park

If your not on the water, your in a field. Felt like I was at Woodstock! We were put in the back by a small pond/holding pond covered by reeds. Felt like a snake or an alligator could come out at any point. Sights were very tight. Bathrooms were clean. Washer and dryers worked fine. We were scheduled to stay for 3 days, left after one. We asked when we arrived if there were any water sites available. We were told no but our good news was we had sewer. In the morning, when we left, we saw 3 open sites. We won’t be back.

Decent campground, but not too happy about allowing long term stays. Apparently, they allow camping for several months. This makes it difficult for others to book a campsite, not to mention getting a good site. The county should really consider changing the length of stay to what's more typical (i.e. 2 weeks). There are plenty of private RV campgrounds for long term / seasonal stays.

I love camping at this park. Nice quiet place to camp. The majority of their camping spots has water access so you can pull your boat, jet ski, canoe or kayak right up to your camp site!
