We stayed at Loon Lake from September 19–22 for a family event, with multiple family members renting out most of the cabins and all of the cottages, including the Riverhouse. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. All of the accommodations were unsanitary — one of the cottage beds had a strong smell of urine, and we heard mice in several buildings at night. In the Riverhouse, we even found baby mice under the oven. Cleanliness and basic maintenance were clearly lacking. There is no cell service on site, and Wi-Fi costs an additional $5 per device, which felt unreasonable considering the already high rental costs. Customer service was poor throughout our stay. When we went to the lodge for assistance, no one was there. When we finally did speak with someone about some of the issues, we were met with a dismissive “What do you want me to do about it?” attitude. We paid extra for tables and chairs for our event, but even that process was frustrating. It took multiple follow-ups over several weeks just to get a quote of how many were included and when we finally received one, it turned out to be incorrect and less than we were quoted was provided. On top of all that, the cabins are located right next to large, overflowing garbage bins that constantly smelled terrible — the odor was noticeable every time we stepped outside. We did not finish our stay. Overall, this was a disappointing experience, and we would not recommend Loon Lake to others.

We rented a room in their motel. First off, it had an overpowering musty smell. The next morning I went to open the curtains to let in some light. I stepped on a slug in the room. I hate slugs, especially stepping on one. They advertise a swimming area which you have to drive too. The swimming area is very small, but there is way too many weeds in the water, and the bottom is thick mud. I thought I was going to have a nice swim. I didn't. We had reserved a Seedoo to rent. I had got sick and canceled the day before. We got none of our money back. I thought I was going to be able to see the lake from our balcony. All you can see is trees growing close to the balcony.

Our cabin was very clean and conveniently located. Staff was very friendly. The ride there was an adventure as we took a shortcut through the mountain. Going back to Reedsport we took the main road. Lots of switchbacks but not too bad. Will go back.

As they say on your stupid opinions pod cast, If I could give them zero stars, I would. Our friends go in a big group here every year, and had reservations for an entire year for several cabins. One of which we were renting this year. We arrived around 1pm, and paid for 4 nights in a cabin. We were told it wouldn't be available until 3pm. So we left and came back. Then they told us they accidentally cancelled our reservation (that we just paid for), and rented the cabin to someone else. Money wasted on fuel to get there, food, time off work, etc. They have a designated swimming area with a Sandy Beach for the little kids but nobody could use that area because they had let people park jet skis all along the beach. Can't really give much more opinion because didn't get to see anything else. Stood around in the heat waiting for nothing just to have to go home. May not seem like much but for someone like me who never gets out of the house this was very disappointing and I'm sure I won't get to go do anything else this summer. How do they run a business like this and have repeat customers.

If you’re looking for somewhere to disconnect from technology and the world, this is a great place. Very relaxing, and the lake was beautiful. Definitely spray yourself with bug spray, I got a tick within the first 24 hours. Staff were PHENOMENAL and very helpful. We went at the first of the season, so we had the hillside area to ourselves which was very nice. No privacy between the sites though, so that kind of sucked.
